Let's just say that we learned that RVing is not for sissies. It can be great fun, but it can also be very difficult and sometimes downright dangerous. RV Adventures with Bill and Mary details the challenges we faced and the miracles God performed as He protected us from impossible circumstances...and almost certain death. Our advice: If you want to go RVing,It is best to - Go with God!Who will be interested in this book? Are you a long-time RVer? Looking back to your first RV trip, you may be reminded of your own experiences and easily relate to their story. Are you new to RVing or just thinking about RVing? You will learn much about the process. Do you love to hear testimonies about the faithfulness of God? You will be encouraged to trust God, even when you face impossible circumstances. Whatever your interest, Bill and Mary's RV trip will be an adventure you will long remember. Before we take you on our journey, I would like to point out that my husband, Bill, and I are not new to travel. Years ago, we determined that we would not wait for retirement to see the USA or visit other countries. Too many people wait until they are no longer working and discover that they are unable to physically or financially travel. We have always been pleased with our decision. Our vacations have been very pleasant and relaxing. Probably the most challenging situations we ever faced were surviving the craziness of making connections at large airports and the time I caught a cold from a fellow passenger on a flight to Hawaii. I was sick for most of the trip. These inconveniences pale in comparison to the challenges we faced on our first RV vacation. Do I think travel will be like this in our future? I pray, not. But if and when the challenges come, I know that God will help us, just as He did on our first RV trip. Also Featured:Bill and Mary's RV TipsWe learned a lot from our first RV trip. In our book, we provide suggestions and tips that may answer some of the questions you have about RV travel.Questions and Concerns:* Will you probably need to purchase gas more than once a day?* How fast should you drive?* Will you use Cruise Control on your journey?* What about wind issues?* Are you always in a hurry?* Do you or your spouse walk into your slides when they are extended?* Do items in your refrigerator slide around when you do not have enough products to completely fill the door racks?* How can you stop items from falling out of the refrigerator when you open the refrigerator door?* Will you be constantly buying ice?* What about food? Book Description
A compassionate, shame-free guide for your darkest days “A one-of-a-kind book . . . to read for yourself or give to a struggling friend or loved one without the fear that depression and suicidal thoughts will be minimized, medicalized or over-spiritualized.”—Kay Warren, cofounder of Saddleback Church What happens when loving Jesus doesn’t cure you of depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts? You might be crushed by shame over your mental illness, only to be told by well-meaning Christians to “choose joy” and “pray more.” So you beg God to take away the pain, but nothing eases the ache inside. As darkness lingers and color drains from your world, you’re left wondering if God has abandoned you. You just want a way out. But there’s hope. In I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die, Sarah J. Robinson offers a healthy, practical, and shame-free guide for Christians struggling with mental illness. With unflinching honesty, Sarah shares her story of battling depression and fighting to stay alive despite toxic theology that made her afraid to seek help outside the church. Pairing her own story with scriptural insights, mental health research, and simple practices, Sarah helps you reconnect with the God who is present in our deepest anguish and discover that you are worth everything it takes to get better. Beautifully written and full of hard-won wisdom, I Love Jesus, But I Want to Die offers a path toward a rich, hope-filled life in Christ, even when healing doesn’t look like what you expect.

Book Description
This candid and humorous chronicle shows how one woman goes from casual observer to obsessive bird nerd as she traverses Louisiana’s avian paradise. In Adventures of a Louisiana Birder, readers follow Marybeth Lima across her adopted state in search of 300 species of birds. Bisected by the Mississippi flyway and home to 400 miles of coast, Louisiana has a variety of habitats, which serve as a beautiful backdrop to this remarkable journey. In birding circles, some devotees attempt what is known as a “big year,” a bird-sighting challenge to identify as many bird species as possible in a particular geographical area over the course of one year. Lima’s initial effort amounted to 11,626 miles in sixty-one road trips to log an impressive 280 species. But on a subsequent quest to exceed her record, she endures elusive birds, embarrassing misidentifications, and hungry insects in an effort to reach her goal. In the midst of these obstacles, Lima celebrates the camaraderie and friendly competition among fellow birders, from novices to a world-renown ornithologist. Requiring both mental focus and physical agility, birdwatching becomes an active sport through Lima’s narration. She vividly conveys the elation over a rare species seen or heard and the disappointment when one is narrowly missed. An appendix provides the location and date of every species she identifies. Lima’s personal experiences are interwoven with the excitement of tracking down one intriguing species after another. She faces a near-fatal burn accident to her spouse, end-of-life care for her mother-in-law, and Louisiana’s great flood of 2016. In the midst of these situations, her devotion to birding provides a much-needed outlet. “Somewhere in the roiling confluence of birds, locales, and human personalities,” writes Lima, “the center of my heart sings with utter abandon.” Adventures of a Louisiana Birder is the author’s call to a deeper passion for and awareness of Louisiana’s unique natural beauty and vulnerability.

Book Description
After a decade in the corporate rat race, Mary was ready for a change. Too much stress and not enough time with her family left her feeling that her priorities were all wrong. So she and her husband quit their jobs, pulled their six-year-old daughter out of school, and moved into an old camper van. They planned to take a year off to drive south in search of a simpler life. What followed were three and a half years of heart-warming personal encounters, breath-taking wilderness campsites, and occasionally terrifying situations? ...In Mexico, an angry mob surrounded them on a remote road and threatened them with rocks, but just a few hours later, a local family welcomed them into their home, sharing everything they had. ...While barreling down the highway in Colombia, their van's battery exploded, filling their home-on-wheels with noxious fumes. Then the engine died entirely while parked in no-man's-land between Ecuador and Peru, leaving them stranded for a month in a tiny border town. ...They learned first-hand about South American politics when they got caught among thousands of Venezuelan refugees trying to cross the Colombian border, and again when a revolution erupted around them in Bolivia and trapped them in the capital city among protests and road blocks. Join them on these and other adventures in this feel-good read about a family trying to find their place in the world.

Book Description
There are close to 8.5 million RVs on the U.S. highways and roads today, and if you are a man in your fifties, there is a good chance you have owned or are about to own a recreational vehicle. Winnebago Nation is a light-hearted look at the culture and industry behind the yearning to spend the night in oneÕs car. For the young, the roadtrip is a coming-of-age ceremony; for those later in life, it is the realization of a lifelong desire to be spontaneous, nomadic, and free. James B. Twitchell recounts the RVÕs origins and evolution over the twentieth century; its rise, fall, and rebirth as a cultural icon; its growing mechanical complexity as it evolved from an estate wagon to a converted bus to a mobile home; and its role in bolstering and challenging conceptions of American identity. Mechanical yet dreamy, independent yet needful, solitary yet clubby, adventurous yet homebound, life in a mobile home is a distillation of the American character and an important embodiment of American exceptionalism (Richie Rich and Hobo Hank spend time in essentially the same rig at the same campground, albeit for different reasons and in different levels of comfort). The frontier may be tapped out, but we still yearn for the exploratory life. Twitchell concludes with his thoughts on the future of RV communities and the possibility of mobile cities becoming a real part of the American landscape.
