A History of the Rodgers Family of Centre County and Tioga County Pennsylvania
Author: Ruth Rodgers Randall
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category :
Languages : en
Pages : 0
Book Description
A history and genealogy of the Raymond Rodgers family of Mansfield, Pennsylvania, including these related families: Ehrhart, Lucas, Shirk, Brower, Resides, Spicer and Fahr. Includes appendices, maps, census records, and historical background. Two of the earliest ancestors of this family are Ulrich Shirk, born 1665 in Switzerland, and Jacob Fahr, born 1704 in Germany. There is evidence here of our immigrant ancestors living in Centre County, Pennsylvania, as early as 1728. Raymond Rodgers' paternal line was in central Pennsylvania before 1810 and in Tioga County by early 1900s. There are 1,535 footnotes, seven pages of bibliography, and a complete index. The focus of this book is to place families within the context of the historical events which determined where they lived, their occupations, and the sometimes powerful ways in which their lives were altered by that history.
