More recent modeling approaches have attempted to couple the analytical power of the computer with the ability to organize the thoughts of the decision maker systematically so that important pieces of information are not overlooked. From these experiences, it is possible to define a set of criteria that any model which purports to deal with solid waste management problems should satisfy.
