Book Description
Religion's Cell by Cynthia McClaskey is a masterful exploration of the ways in which organized religion has, through the centuries, systematically denied woman her proper role in the church and the world. Beginning with a firsthand account of her own subjugation within a fundamentalist sect, McClaskey moves forward with detailed and extensively referenced explanations of the God-intended role of woman. Along the way, she provides explanations of how man, in seeking to retain power and authority in both religion and the world, has relegated woman to a subservient position in both areas, in violation of God's intended plan. McClaskey's evidence is compelling and her logic flawless as she argues against the God-as-stern-judge mentality that permeates most modern religious sects and emphasizes the true nature of God as a loving father --a father who wants only the best for both genders of His crowning creation. She points out that Christ surrounded himself with women and that women played major roles in the early years of Christianity, providing copious scriptural support for her position. In Religion's Cell, McClaskey has issued a clarion call for true gender equality, both inside and outside organized religion. This is a book women will want to read and men should be required to read.

Book Description
Play, Pain and Religion is the first consideration of the practices associated with BDSM (bondage, domination, sadism and masochism) in the context of religious studies scholarship. The focus is an exploration of BDSM experience as it emerges from the complex interactions of kink activities and relationship. Experiences categorised by BDSM practitioners as 'religious' and 'spiritual' are commonly described in the same terms, and given the same value, as descriptions of experiences which are not so categorised. Play, Pain and Religion examines practitioner accounts of BDSM experience alongside those practitioners' personal identification with these terms. This book argues that the significance of a given experience is not located solely within any intrinsic quality ascribed to it but in subsequent constructions around the nature and meaning of the event. It examines some such constructions, moving away from absolute definitions of religion or religions to consider the religious as an active process of meaning-, world- and story-making. By using this 'religioning' framework, this book examines ways in which BDSM can potentially be used in such processes. Play, Pain and Religion is a valuable resource for scholars of religion and of kink, for people interested in the complexities of ascribing meaning and value to human behaviour, and for kinksters interested in their own kink and why it is they do what they do.

The gospel was never intended to restrain women from pursuing god or to prevent them from fulfilling their divine destiny. In his revised and updated book, which includes testimonials, Lee grady boldly proclaims the truth of the gospel: that men and women are appointed by god and empowered by Him. In 10 Lies the Church Tells Women, readers will discover: Why Jesus went out of His way to minister to and disciple women. Why so many Christian women suffer abusive marriages, and why many pastors don’t do anything about the problem. Book Description
Are you exhausted? Women today really do feel the weight of the world on their shoulders. Every morning we are greeted with a long list of to-dos: get the kids up and out the door on time, have a meaningful quiet time, put in a full day at the office, spend an hour at the gym, prepare a healthy and delicious meal (organic and locally grown, of course), and make sure the sink sparkles before you go to bed. Oh, and don’t forget to look great and smile while you’re doing it. These are all good things to do, of course. But the bigger problem occurs when we start to feel as if our worth is measured by our to-do lists. And the messages we receive at church, on Facebook, and from the media only perpetuate these unrealistic expectations, creating a relentless cycle of exhaustion. As Elyse Fitzpatrick has traveled this country, she has seen increasing evidence of this weariness epidemic invading our churches and communities. And she has good news for women everywhere: there is hope! God doesn’t judge us by our to-do lists. Instead, He calls us to faith. Free yourself today from the endless stream of bad advice and discover the true rest God offers.

Book Description
(ATUEALLY, a work of this kind must be abridged. When woman started from her ancient bondage for modern freedom, she hit a long trail. I shall try to blaze that trail. She has been on the way some time, but she never knew where she was going nobody does. Progress has no ultimate goal it can 't have. It has an instinct. It is a wanderer. It passes through successive zones that are repeated. They can not be infinite in number and diversity, because being is limited in its reactions. There is not even conception of infinity. Being is necessarily provincial. It is characterized by its surround- ings. Cosmic consciousness is an idea. God is hope. Immortality is a dream. Is there truth in the idea? Is there reality in the hope? Is there prophecy in the dream? No one knows. The very soul of our race is dumb, or, at best, inarticulate in its cries and vague in its longings. In the long run, progress may be like a dog chasing his tail. Activity is good for the dog even if he misses the rabbit; but if we assume ix X PREFACE that he will catch the rabbit, what then? Shall he stop, or catch another and another forever and ever! Still, if progress turns out to be only a movement with an active instinct, I like to think that the instinct makes for well-being. The bewildering fact is that it doesn't. For nothing so bedevils us as that which we call progress. Let us say then that bedevilment is good (for the soul) since we can not abate it. Let us go in for progress, as everybody does. Here the trouble begins. Each knows the road that all the world should take, but no two roads are alike. I see one that looks prom- ising. It seems to be a continuation of the trail, leading to broader human rights from the narrower rights of sex or class. This road passes I hope to an equal spiritual dignity of manhood and womanhood, opening up the pos- sibilities of human nature through orderly activity. Of course, no wise woman travels alone if she can help it. Nature loves nothing better than mating. Nature is hard-headed. According to her, almost any kind of a mate is better than none. In general, her children obey her, in one way or another. Those who do not obey the mother are weaned before it is good for them; that is to say, they are runted out of existence. So we find that woman in her trail from relative bondage to comparative freedom had PEEFACE XI company all along. She was both helped and hindered by her companion ; but she was helped more than hindered, because her very hindrance often was a help. At all events, a stage has been reached where no one doubts the desirability of equal oppor- tunity and equal responsibility of men and women under the law ; and nobody should ques- tion the wisdom of their equal moral obligations to society, on given conditions. There also is common agreement on the right to freedom of speech within the limits of decency, regardless of sex ; and no one now who loathes caste doubts the fitness of women for full citizenship with men.

Book Description
What does the Bible really say about women and God's eternal purposes for them? What is God's heart and mind regarding women in leadership? The gender issue, or the woman question as it has often been called, has become ever more prominent in the Church in recent years. A dramatic increase in the numbers of women seeking involvement in ministry has been a catalyst which has initiated a new uncertainty in theological circles. As a result, church leaders and saints in the Body of Christ have been prompted to ask the question again, and are looking for clear guidance on the theology of gender roles. Dee Alei insists that it is time for God's women to come under His covering, under the shadow of His wings, to find healing from their hurts. It is time for God's women to release any anger or bitterness from the misunderstandings, accusation, isolation, rejection, alienation and ungodly control that they may have experienced in the past. It is a new day
