Examines staff nurse perception of nurse manager leadership style and its relationship to staff nurse job satisfaction. This study explored the staff nurse’s perception of their nurse manager’s leadership style as it relates to the staff nurse’s job satisfaction. The nurse manager’s role is pivotal to unit performance and staff nurse job satisfaction. This study explored these relationships using two tools, the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ 5X-short) and the McCloskey Mueller Satisfaction Scale (MMSS) to determine if there is a relationship between the staff nurse’s perception of their nurse manager’s leadership style and the staff nurse’s job satisfaction. No statistically significant relationship was found in this study to suggest that the staff nurse’s perception of their nurse manager correlates to their satisfaction with their job.
