Cette thèse porte sur l'étude des performances, en terme d'erreur quadratique moyenne (EQM), des estimateurs du maximum de vraisemblance dans le cadre du traitement du signal et s'attache plus particulièrement à étudier et unifier les bornes minimales d'estimation. Le but de cette thèse est, dans un premier temps, de compléter la caractérisation de la zone asymptotique (en particulier pour un rapport signal sur bruit élevé et un nombre d'observations fini) dans un contexte traitement d'antenne. Dans un second temps, le but est de donner les limites fondamentales de l'EQM d'un estimateur dans les zones asymptotique et non asymptotique. Les outils utilisés ici sont les bornes minimales de l'EQM autres que les bornes de Cramér Rao dont la validité n'est qu'asymptotique. Les résultats obtenus sont appliqués à l'estimation de porteuse dans le contexte des communications numériques et fournissent de surcroît des outils intéressants pour prédire la zone de décrochement d'un récepteur.
