(1056 - 1086) seine Gemahlin Clementia geschenkt. Zwei von ihnen widmeten sich dem geistlichen Stande. Adalbert wurde Dompropst zu Metz. Rudolf trat in's Kloster. Dieser Mönch ist eine der reinsten Gestalten aus der Geschichte unseres Vaterlandes. Seinen Ordensgenossen hat er voran geleuchtet durch das Beispiel der herrlichsten Tugenden, der gesammten Mitwelt durch die Treue gegen den Stuhl Petri in dem gewaltigen Kampfe Heinrichs IV. Mit dem Papstthum. Trotz des Einflusses, den er auf seine Zeitgenossen ausgeübt, ist sein Name bisher nur wenig genannt werden. Die Bedeutung seines kirchlich-politischen Wirkens an's Licht zu ziehen, seine Prüfungen und Erfolge zu schildern, ist der erste Gegenstand dieser Abhandlung. De Luxembourg (Ci-Devant Societe Archeologique du Grand-Duche), Vol. 55: Sous le Protectorat de Son Altesse Royal le Grand-Duc de Luxembourg Pour continuer la serie des cartulaires de l'ancien duche de Luxembourg, commencee par les chartes de la ville de Luxembourg, de Reinach, de Clervaux, d'Ansembourg et de Marienthal, offre maintenant a l'etude des savants luxembourgeois les analyses des archives de Betzdorf et de Schuttbourg. Les archives de Betzdorf, qui autrefois faisaient partie de celles des Mohr de Wahl ou de Reinach, ont ete mises a la dis position de la section historique de l'Institut par Madame la comtesse de Salignac-Fenelon, a condition qu'apres leur publication elles soient reunies au fonds de Reinach, depose aux archives du Gouvernement de Luxembourg. Celles de Schutbourg ont ete donnees a notre societe par M. Jules Lamort, juge de paix a Wiltz et proprietaire actuel du chateau de Schuttbourg. Les deux fonds dont je donne en ce moment les analyses sont loin d'avoir l'importance exceptionnelle que presentent les archives de Reinach ou de Clervaux. Neanmoins le premier complete dans une certaine mesure les archives de Reinach et offre notamment en originaux plusieurs pieces tres importantes connues jusqu'ici seulement par des copies mal faites et mal datees; le second fait connaitre assez bien l'histoire d'une petite seigneurie a peu pres inconnue jusqu'ici.
