This is the time of preparation to get rid of all evil. I believe in the goodness of people, but the Bible is very clear that the act of humans can be very wicked. Thank God for his Son Jesus Christ, who died on the cross of Calvary to save us from our wicked ways to come out of darkness into his marvellous light. May this book be a help to come out of wickedness. Where life is there is hope. My prayer for you is that the Lord will see you through. God is merciful, He loves us so much. May His love cover you today and turn your life around for good in Jesus name. I can truly say that I am a living testimony to the Almighty. I have got a second chance in life to become a better person and a sample for others of hope and life in a dark world where we are living in. Deliverance out of demonic activities is vital for every human being on earth. My prayer is that my struggles with Psychosis will help you to find the courage to fight against it with all strength that is within you. I know my experiences can give the reader hope, which is the main purpose of writing this book. God bless you. Just for your knowledge, finally I have never been admitted in any Mental Hospital even though the midwife called the crisis team to be admitted. Finally by God’s grace I have been protected in my entire life. To God be the glory.

Oxford Textbook of Public Mental Health
Author: Dinesh Bhugra
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 0192511408
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 617
Book Description
Prevention of mental illness and mental health promotion have often been ignored in the past, both in undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. Recently, however, there has been a clear shift towards public mental health, as a result of increasing scientific evidence that both these actions have a serious potential to reduce the onset of illness and subsequent burden as a result of mental illness and related social, economic and political costs. A clear distinction between prevention of mental illness and mental health promotion is critical. Selective prevention, both at societal and individual level, is an important way forward. The Oxford Textbook of Public Mental Health brings together the increasing interest in public mental health and the growing emphasis on the prevention of mental ill health and promotion of well-being into a single comprehensive textbook. Comprising international experiences of mental health promotion and mental well-being, chapters are supplemented with practical examples and illustrations to provide the most relevant information succinctly. This book will serve as an essential resource for mental and public health professionals, as well as for commissioners of services, nurses and community health visitors.

The Ruin of All Witches
Author: Malcolm Gaskill
Publisher: Random House
ISBN: 0593467108
Category : Body, Mind & Spirit
Languages : en
Pages : 337
Book Description
A gripping story of a family tragedy brought about by witch-hunting in Puritan New England that combines history, anthropology, sociology, politics, theology and psychology. “The best and most enjoyable kind of history writing. Malcolm Gaskill goes to meet the past on its own terms and in its own place…Thought-provoking and absorbing." —Hilary Mantel, best-selling author of Wolf Hall In Springfield, Massachusetts in 1651, peculiar things begin to happen. Precious food spoils, livestock ails, property vanishes, and people suffer convulsions as if possessed by demons. A woman is seen wading through the swamp like a lost soul. Disturbing dreams and visions proliferate. Children sicken and die. As tensions rise, rumours spread of witches and heretics and the community becomes tangled in a web of distrust, resentment and denunciation. The finger of suspicion soon falls on a young couple with two small children: the prickly brickmaker, Hugh Parsons, and his troubled wife, Mary. Drawing on rich, previously unexplored source material, Malcolm Gaskill vividly evokes a strange past, one where lives were steeped in the divine and the diabolic, in omens, curses and enchantments. The Ruin of All Witches captures an entire society caught in agonized transition between superstition and enlightenment, tradition and innovation.

Psychosis: Global Perspectives
Author: Craig Morgan
Publisher: Oxford University Press
ISBN: 0191054496
Category : Medical
Languages : en
Pages : 376
Book Description
Psychotic disorders are a major public health challenge. Psychoses are associated with significant individual, familial, and societal costs. Yet, our understanding of these conditions is limited because the overwhelming majority of research is conducted in a small number of countries in North America, Europe, and Australasia, which together comprise only around 16% of the world's population. There are consequently substantial gaps in our knowledge of psychoses, and the need for a global perspective is obvious. Psychosis: Global Perspectives comprises two parts: In the first half of the book, the authors review the current evidence base on psychoses around the world by theme, from epidemiology to human rights, highlighting commonalities and differences between settings and illustrating the gaps in our knowledge. The second half of the book synthesises existing research from nine countries in the Global South, providing detailed accounts of ongoing research programmes, local treatment systems, and cultural contexts, and contrasting these with theory and data generated from the Global North. Together, these sections illustrate how experiences of psychosis may be shaped by social context, and the importance of diversifying the settings in which research on psychosis is conducted. Academically rigorous yet accessibly written, this new title addresses the substantial inequalities in literature and attention in the global understanding of psychotic disorders.

Working with indigenous knowledge
Author: Fhumulani M. Mulaudzi
Publisher: AOSIS
ISBN: 1779952597
Category : Health & Fitness
Languages : en
Pages : 296
Book Description
The aim of the book is to assist both local and international scholars in articulating the scholarly discourse on indigenous health attitudes, practices, and experiences. The indigenous lens that was used to generate and disseminate indigenous knowledge in this book will strengthen indigenous scholarship, thus making it accessible to a wider audience. In addition, the information shared in this book will add value for scholars and assist them with the indigenous knowledge needed to address sustainable development goals. This book is timeous and topical as the discourse on the decolonisation of the curriculum is widely debated in the higher education space. The discourse on the scholarship of indigenous knowledge, as the tacit local knowledge that stems from cultural practices within communities, has not been well articulated in the current health science education milieu. Indigenous knowledge has remained overlooked and undermined for a very long time and the information remains untapped in local communities. The scholars who conducted the research on which this book is based unearthed a wealth of knowledge which was tacit in nature and translated it into implicit knowledge that can be documented and shared with other scholars globally. This knowledge will assist health care scholars in benefiting from knowledge, practices and cultural beliefs that will assist them in health care planning, teaching, evidence-based practice and further research.
