Book Description
This book is a collection of inspirational, and sometimes personal poems that one can relate partly, almost totally, or totally, which is one of the goals I have for the book. The other goal which I hope is easily achieved by the reader is that it can relax them, entertain them and inspire them all at the same time. Unlike a novel, each poem is like a story in itself. I feel that with many of these poems the message can be very impacting and easy to remember since each one rhymes and most aren't too long. Enjoy.

Book Description
100 of the most moving and inspiring poems of the last 200 years from around the world, a collection that will comfort and enthrall anyone trapped by grief or loneliness, selected by the award-winning, best-selling, and beloved author of How to Read a Poem Implicit in poetry is the idea that we are enriched by heartbreaks, by the recognition and understanding of suffering--not just our own suffering but also the pain of others. We are not so much diminished as enlarged by grief, by our refusal to vanish, or to let others vanish, without leaving a record. And poets are people who are determined to leave a trace in words, to transform oceanic depths of feeling into art that speaks to others. In 100 Poems to Break Your Heart, poet and advocate Edward Hirsch selects 100 poems, from the nineteenth century to the present, and illuminates them, unpacking context and references to help the reader fully experience the range of emotion and wisdom within these poems. For anyone trying to process grief, loneliness, or fear, this collection of poetry will be your guide in trying times.

Journey Through My Heart is a book of unconventional poetry written during dark times from 1995 to 2005. The poems are singsong nursery rhymes different than traditional type poems The atmosphere is somewhat negative, and emotions are rampant. I am sure there are multitudes that experience bliss, happiness, and success, but heartache seems to be more prevalent for most. Even if only felt for a moment in time, emotions are a significant part of our lives. They shape who we are and give life substance. Besides, not all of us experience true happiness, but who escapes heartache, anger, or sadness?

Book Description
Poetry has given me a voice to express the many emotions I am feeling at a particular time. I grew up in the era when children were to be seen and not heard. Childhood was difficult for me because I loved to talk, but I was not allowed or encouraged to address my feelings, nor was I even asked what I thought. I was the youngest child of four for eight years but still the baby girl. By the eleventh year of my life, I was no longer the baby; I became the middle child. People can't comprehend what that did to me, unless they have been there. I always enjoyed talking, which got me into trouble in school. I had lots of dolls, with which I was able to create my own world until I began to write short stories and then poetry. I came to an understanding of God's existence when I was about eight. I spent a lot of time talking to Him, especially when I was sad. I didn't really get to know the true knowledge of Jesus Christ and salvation until I was twenty-five. Thirty-five years later, I can no longer contain the love, joy, and peace that abide on the inside. My recent poems, mixed with some of my earlier poems, are being poured out for all to share and be partakers of God's grace and mercy. Allowing the Holy Spirit to direct and awaken in me emotions that I was unable to express has been a journey all its own as well as a true blessing. I have always loved poetry; it has a way of saying things that are soothing to the heart of the hearers instead of harsh to what they hear with their natural ears. The journey begins on the inside with the key that unlocks what the heart has to say.
