Pneumonia is an inflammatory condition which affects the alveoli of the lungs. It exhibits symptoms such as chest pain, productive or dry cough, trouble breathing and fever. Pneumonia is caused due to a bacterial infection or a viral infection. It may also arise as a response to certain medications and clinical conditions such as autoimmune diseases.
