Ici le travail du métaphysicien devient beaucoup plus aisé il attribue à l'intelligence, sans avoir égard aux circonstances extérieures, une conception dont il développe l'étendue. La philosophie de l'histoire ne vit point d'abstractions, elle se base sur les prin cipes mèmes de l'histoire; et l'on s'expose àamener des déduc tions trompeuses si, dans une certaine limite, du moins, l'on ne généralise les faits sans nombre qu'elle présente.
