Book Description
The issue of parental involvement in religious education is an important one for the family, the church, the Christian school, and society. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe parents concepts and practices of involvement in their childrens religious education as evangelical Christian parents in Midwestern communities. This research addressed four research questions: (a) What are evangelical parents concepts and practices of involvement in their childrens religious education? (b) What informs evangelical parents concepts and practices of involvement in their childrens religious education? (c) What content do evangelical parents consider important to their childrens religious education? (d) Why do evangelical parents get involved in their childrens religious education? (e) What barriers do evangelical parents encounter when participating in the religious education of their children? The research involved 12 participants, parents who exhibited the phenomenon of parental involvement in their childrens religious education. Church leaders recommended the participants for involvement in the study. The data collection from these participants included interviews, site documents, and a focus group. The data were analyzed through immersion into the participants expressed experience, identification of essential qualities of the experience, and synthesis of individual experiences to describe the general essence of the experience. This process led to the identification of eight themes including foundations, forms, facilities, functions, foci, fruit, fights, and feelings of parental involvement in their childrens religious education. This analysis also incorporated the qualitative practices of bracketing and member-check.

Book Description
Parents share collective experiences of either involving themselves or not in their child's education. This transcendental phenomenological study's rationale was to explore the views, experiences, beliefs, and motivations of parents who are involved in their children's education. Eleven participants who engaged in this research are from a small-sized Christian school in Kentucky. The theory guiding this study is Urie Bronfenbrenner's theory (1979), the Ecological System (microsystem, mesosystem, exosystem, macrosystem, and chronosystem). The data collected from interviews, a focus group, and two surveys. NVivo12 plus Qualitative Data Analysis Software (Q-DAS) implemented to analyze the qualitative data collected. Moustakas' (1994) phenomenological seven steps guided the data analysis. The phenomenological analysis identified common themes in this research. The results of the study identified several themes from a central research question: What are the experiences of parents who are involved in their children's education? The three subsequent research questions are: (a) How are parents encouraged to move from merely monitoring to becoming more actively involved in their children's education? (b) What do parents perceive to be obstacles that hinder their active involvement with children's school activities? (c) What roles do the administration and teachers occupy in parental involvement? These questions drew attention to the gaps in parental involvement through literature by the investigation. More research regarding diverse parental involvement needs addressing outside of the teachers who were involved in this research. The administration needs to reach out to parents, which could significantly influence parents' experiences.

Book Description
This book examines the process of conducting research on parental involvement in an effort to promote academic achievement across all school levels, income levels, and racial lines, theories, and research. Latunde explores the policies that have emerged to support the role of families and home-school collaboration in the education of youth, and evidence supporting home school collaboration and the need for parental involvement to improve student outcomes. She defines parental research and its role in our understanding of parental involvement and student outcomes and examines federal and state mandates for parental involvement and shares specific parental involvement resources. The nuances in parental involvement are critical to understanding the roles family play in the academic achievement youth, and how schools may partner with parents for success.

Book Description
First published in 1993. This volume brings together writings of specialists in the key components of both the whole and the basic curriculum. It sets out to describe and discuss cultural diversity and the whole curriculum from a variety of perspectives and to consider how the concerns of ethnic groups may be addressed within the framework of the national curriculum. To this end, specialists in areas of the curriculum consider some of the challenges and describe promising practices in the secondary school. Much remains undecided concerning the structure, content, pedagogy and assessment of many components of the primary-school curriculum. Despite these considerations, the multicultural nature of the population and of schools will develop. These developments and their educational implications must be considered if the educational system is to respond adequately. Although the ‘rules of the curricular game’ are still being negotiated in relation to a number of aspects of the curriculum, the editors have deliberately ventured into this controversial field. They do so because of the increasing importance of ethnic diversity of the school population and of the country.

Book Description
There is an interesting knowledge trajectory that God remains incomprehensible, not imperceptible. This lends credence to the fact that religious study since the Enlightenment has dedicated itself almost entirely to the problem of reconciling the non-existence of God in the physical world with his necessary existence in the metaphysical world. When seriously examined, it would be discovered that these two aspects are logically contradictory, and this is a problem with no solution. But interpreting God not as a physical being but as a phenomenological thing changes the nature of the problem enough that a solution emerges almost automatically. In this phenomenological model, the crux of the matter is that God does not exist, but God is real. Therefore, it is imperative to return to experience and verifiability, hence, purging it of unexamined and often hidden assumptions. Phenomenological Approaches to Religion and Spirituality brings together the different disciplines and research approaches to provide a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenology of God and spirituality, as well as offering an effective epistemological apparatus capable of dealing with this concept. The book employs multidisciplinary approaches from religious studies, theology, philosophy, anthropology, and other segments to dissect the subject matter for efficient evaluation and all-inclusive findings. While covering various aspects of religion such as the testaments of the Bible, the church, the religious experience, and various aspects of spirituality, this book is intended for theologians, philosophers, religious leaders, policymakers, academicians, researchers, students, public institutions, and agencies with a special interest in religious matters, values, knowledge, and truth.
