The Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory's (PMEL's) core values of integrity, excellence, and leadership have helped us to combine scientific independence with strategic integration and societal relevance. The laboratory is more than a collection of individual scientists; it provides an infrastructure that promotes interaction between researchers with related interests to achieve the NOAA, OAR, and PMEL missions.
