These include: "apparent contours," used in certain cases of lingualized abutments; "cemented abutments in screw-retained prostheses," which provides the security of a completely passive fit; and "try-in of resin models," which provides information on esthetics and on construction of the definitive prosthesis in an early phase, allowing one to try as many variations as one can create, with the certainty that the porcelain and metal will be homogeneously distributed.

Book Description
Occlusion is an imperial factor in success of restoration, as the design of the restoration can utilize occlusal forces constructively. The occlusal forces in implant dentistry includes the transosteal forces, bone biomechanics, basic biomechanics, differences in natural teeth and implants, muscles of mastication and occlusal forces and bone resorption. In addition systematic individual treatment plans and precise surgical prosthodontic procedures based on biomechanical principles are pre requisite for optimal implant occlusion.

Book Description
Occlusion is one of the critical factors for long term success of dental implant. The lack of proprioceptive receptor in osseo-intergrated implants, is one of the major reasons for over loading and subsequent crestal bone loss. A proper occlusal scheme can eliminate the tensional and shear stresses developed at the implant bone interface under masticatory load and can lengthen the longevity of the implant prosthesis. However the immediate and early loading of dental implant helps to develop a strong implant bone interface with mature laminar type of bone. This book is a conscious effort made to enhance the knowledge of occlusion in dental implants.

Book Description
The clinical success and longevity of endosteal dental implants as load-bearing abutments are controlled largely by the mechanical setting in which they function. The treatment plan is responsible for the design, number and position of the implants. After achievement of rigid fixation, proper crestal bone contour, gingival health, mechanical stress, and/or strain beyond the physical limits of hard tissues have been suggested as the primary cause of initial bone loss around implants. After successful surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation with a passive prosthesis, such noxious stresses and loads applied to the implant and surrounding tissues result primarily from occlusal contacts. Complications (prosthetic and/or bony support) reported in follow-up studies underline occlusion as a determining factor for success or failure.
