Book Description
Few mysteries are solved without questions remaining. This mystery too will leave the reader asking for more information about wagon life during the western migration, the draw of gold fields, and the lure of business and political ties, and much more. In all mysteries there is the intrigue and mental gymnastics of uncertainty, folklore, obscurity of fact. Our imagination leads us to travel the pathways provided by betrayal, greed, inference, and conjecture. These building footprints, forgotten and left to be covered by sand and time, provided the primary evidence of an untold piece of Colorado's story. The footprints have been sitting in the sand, unrecognized and unheralded, even their birth story was unknown. Are these relics of the past centuries old, or merely decades? There was no known current recognition, no known builder, purpose, history or name identity. Their history and the story they represent covers more than six states, and although just footprints, they may have been unique and of major significance for the period. They also could signify something to decorate the pages of infamy and betrayal. As the trail winds through many states, false leads, and familiar pioneer names, there emerges a sense of historical significance pointing to even more historical associations and questions. There is intrigue regarding those involved with what these building footprints represent, from life on the prairie, to those desiring fame and fortune by spinning their influence from Colorado to Washington DC. only to find that today, in many aspects, this story continues.

Book Description
The Lord of the Rings trilogy has delighted millions of fans worldwide in book and movie form. With the theatrical release of the two-part film The Hobbit slated for 2012 and 2013, attention will once again turn to J. R. R. Tolkien's classic works. In a culture where truth is relative and morality is viewed as old-fashioned, we welcome the chance to view the world through hobbit eyes: we have free will, our choices matter, and living a morally heroic life is possible. In this engaging and thought-provoking book, Tolkien expert Matthew Dickerson shows how a Christian worldview and Christian themes undergird Tolkien's Middle-earth writings and how they are fundamentally important to understanding his vision. This revised and expanded edition of Following Gandalf includes new material on torture, social justice, and the importance of the body.

Book Description
The beginning of the 1990's saw a partisan debate about the nature of recovered memories for highly emotional events. Some authors claimed that recovered memories of trauma always referred to veridical memories that had been inaccessible for years. Others argued that such memories were false by definition and that they were created by therapeutic attempts to uncover trauma that was believed to lie at the root of anxiety or depression. Although the debate soon moved to a middle ground, both sides fuelled the development of relevant experimental paradigms to explore the mechanisms for how false memories might be created and also how true memories might be forgotten. Examples are studies looking at memory implanting, false word memory, and retrieval-induced forgetting in the mid-1990's. Many studies using such paradigms, however, relied on emotionally neutral material. Studies relating to trauma were less readily available. Now more and more researchers are bridging this gap, testing whether emotive material can be implanted and forgotten and whether there are special populations more susceptible to these effects. This special issue brings together papers examining emotion and memory malleability, both providing a picture of the state-of-the-art research and pushing the field forward.
