Book Description
Born of the Sun begins with the awakening of Miatron, High Priest of Upper and Lower Egypt, to his divine mission. He is disheartened by the fact he is nearing the completion of his life with only banal repetitious spiritual ritual to show for his many years of existence. Suddenly he hears a voice telling him the bloodline of the Pharaohs has been corrupted by interbreeding and instructing him to seek a woman of pure blood to be the new queen to the aging Amunhotep III. He and three young apprentices set out in secret to search for this maiden. They must each find her through their own intuition as to her identity, for her protection is a secret even to her own family. Found in a small village near the Caspian Sea, young Tyi, future Queen of Egypt, returns with them and is placed under the guardianship of the temples until she becomes of age. Once she begins her flow she is married to the Pharaoh. Her winning personality and uncanny wisdom soon make her the favorite wife and advisor to Amunhotep III. She soon becomes pregnant with Akhenaton. Opposing her position are another son of the Pharaoh and some of the Amun priests. They plot to prevent the birth of ascension to the throne through a number of maneuvers. Miatron and Tyi speak consistently to the child in the womb to give it precognition upon its birth. Born Amunhotep IV, the child is sheltered by mother and High Priest to prevent his corruption by the Amun priests. Finally, forced to enter his training for succession to the throne, the young prince ignores most of the temple teachings in favor of those of Tyi and Miatron. Immediately upon his father's death he disappears, called to training by the ancient masters hidden away in caves near the Nile halfway between Thebes and Memphis. Inside these caves are secret Temples of Light, there since the days of the lost continent of Atlantis. During his absence a number of ploys are attempted by his half-brother, Akenset, son of one of the lesser wives and other discontented officials to defer his coronation in Akenset's favor. The popular Tyi and Miatron solely prevent this, now on his deathbed. Upon his return Amunhotep IV is crowned under his new name, Akhenaton. For a time, Akhenaton attempts to bring about a gradual movement away from the corrupt Amun priesthood to the one God, Aton, and Source of All Creation from the Central Sun. This was not an original idea, as he was taught in the Temples of Light, but a return to Source which had been diluted by the myriad of gods that filled the Amun temples of Egypt and Babylon. Resistance to change was entrenched by a priesthood enriched by a public only too willing to pay for their supplications to the angry gods instilled by irreverent predecessors to maintain control. Akhenaton finally felt he was left with no alternative but to destroy the symbols of the lesser gods in the temples. This further alienated him from the priests and many government officials. He lost the loyalty of the army, foreign minister, and minister of affairs by his pacifist beliefs, refusing to support military ventures or to increase requested taxes to support them. Tyi was a unifying force, strong in support of her son, but flexible in negotiation. Both she and her son were popular with the masses. His half-brother, Akenset, now High Priest of Upper and Lower Egypt was displeasing to all. Always in the front of Akhenaton's mind was the vision of a City of Light to be located near the Temple of Light in the caves. Finally, left with no choice but to remove his government from the corruption of Thebes, he began the construction of the city, Akhetaton. His loyal and adept mother remained in Thebes to outmaneuver the government officials and priests left behind. His beautiful and charming queen, Nefretiti, remained to entertain the

Book Description
Albert Meisner is really incensed; not only is he being blamed for the catastrophe that transported his whole property, his family, their friends and two unexpected guests to this peculiar world; the whiskey he’s been drinking is having no effect on him! The truly culpable person is Frank; his future son-in-law who is now in a coma from the power surge precipitated by his experimentation with the ‘harmless’ alien objects Albert had salvaged a dozen years earlier from the wreckage of a spaceship. Albert learns that just moments before the catastrophic event catapulted them to this place, the secret service and army had been situated right outside his front gate about to raid his home. As all vestiges of 21st century life have disappeared, the question becomes not where are they, but when? Though Albert boasts he’s just a ‘simple trucker’, he sets out to chronicle all the events that may have contributed to their predicament in the hope of discovering how it could’ve happened and who or what really caused it. As if things couldn’t get worse, a shovel and pick-axe being used to fortify the compound against a possible attack from their new neighbours go missing.

Book Description
Imagine being granted the extraordinary gift of one last conversation with a loved one, knowing it would be your final chance to connect. Would you use this precious time to pour out your heart, share stories of love and gratitude, and bid a proper farewell? For most, such a divine opportunity would be treasured. But for Jolie, a middle-aged woman juggling the demands of her children, job, grieving father, and estranged sister, the conversation might take an unexpected turn. Why, for instance, did her mother choose to ignore the cancer ravaging her body, instead channeling her energy into hosting dance challenges from her hospital bed and teaching her grandchildren the joys of skinny dipping? Since her mother’s passing, Jolie has been consumed by grief and regret, finding even the simplest tasks overwhelming. Despite knowing that hiding under the covers and napping won’t solve anything, she feels too drained to seek alternatives. As she contemplates the tempting escape of running away – a choice that hardly seems fitting for a woman nearing fifty – Jolie receives an extraordinary gift: one final conversation with her mother. With so much left unsaid, where does one begin when faced with this singular chance? It isn’t until Jolie faces a heart-wrenching accident involving her own daughter that she finds her answer. You begin by acknowledging the importance of family, and the power of forgiveness and letting go. Woven with wisdom, humor, and a touch of magic, A Time to Talk is an uplifting story that explores the unbreakable bonds of family, the profound impact of a mother’s love, and the ability to find light even in the darkest of times.

Book Description
You can acquire a new friend, a new home, a new passion in life. Only once are you born into a family, and if you’re fortunate enough to find a lasting spouse and bring children into this world, just once are they born into your family. That is special. God is always putting us to the test. Not always do we pass that test; this certainly is true of me. Oftentimes it’s not what you do in life, but what’s more important is what you’ve learned from it. From the onset of my childhood, this book reflects that theme and offers my own personal insights into life’s valuable lessons. My thoughts include reactions to historic events in my lifetime including JFK’s assassination, the cultural revolution, Muhammed Ali, the rock & roll music world, 9/11 and much more. As a parent, you’ll find yourself nodding your head yes as you read through this story. This books’ second half especially pivots to a more emotional tone after my marriage to Sandy and bringing our two boys, Mark and Bradley, into this world. This story details the strong love for my own parents and Sandy, and certainly I share many fun moments with my sons. But perhaps more than anything, I begin to internalize and agonize over the obstacles and challenges that confront my own two boys. Ultimately, it reveals a much-greater awareness of myself, my own purpose in life, and the profound meaning that Mark and Bradley hold for me.
