Comme leurs écuyers, les chevaux sont considérés comme de véritables artistes qui pourraient probablement appréhender le passage sur la piste et éprouver un stress au cours du spectacle. A partir d’indices physiologiques non invasifs et d’indices comportementaux, nous avons cherché à évaluer l’impact du spectacle sur le stress de 13 chevaux de l’Académie en comparant les indices avant, juste après et après un spectacle et un entrainement. Nous avons démontré qu’il y avait une augmentation de la fréquence cardiaque et de la température interne (moins sensiblement) sur toutes les périodes du spectacle par rapport à l’entrainement suggérant la présence d’un stress chez les chevaux. Le comportement des chevaux était lui aussi modifié, surtout le mouvement et la position des oreilles avant et après un spectacle ou encore le mâchonnement du mors avant un spectacle. Nous avons également pu montrer que la détente avait un effet bénéfique chez les chevaux puisqu’elle diminue le stress, abaissant la fréquence cardiaque avant un spectacle. La détente est donc recommandée dans la préparation du cheval au spectacle. Ainsi, les chevaux de l’Académie apparaissent plus stressés en spectacle qu’en entrainement, ceci étant mesurable par des indices physiologiques et comportementaux. Nous avons proposé une grille d’évaluation simplifiée des indices comportementaux représentatifs de ce stress qui peut être utilisée par les professionnels du spectacle équestre.

Comme tout artiste, le cheval peut être soumis au stress et à l'anxiété à l'approche du spectacle. Nous avons cherché à mettre en évidence l'impact du spectacle chez le cheval en s'appuyant sur un panel d'indices physiologiques. L'étude a été menée sur treize chevaux de l'Académie Equestre de Versailles, sur lesquels ont été réalisés à trois moments autour du spectacle et de l'entrainement des prises de fréquence cardiaque et de température interne ainsi que des clichés de thermographie infrarouge des yeux, des naseaux et des oreilles. Les résultats de l'entrainement et du spectacle ont été ensuite comparés. Une réponse d'anticipation liée au spectacle a pu être mise en évidence chez les chevaux ainsi qu'une réponse de stress grâce aux relevés d'indices systématiquement plus élevés autour du spectacle que de l'entrainement. Notre étude montre que les températures nasales et auriculaires, mesurées par thermographie infra-rouge et utilisées pour les premières fois chez le cheval, étaient très pertinentes à mesurer dans ce contexte. Cette technique non-invasive peut ainsi être utilisée afin d'évaluer le stress chez le cheval et ainsi adapter au mieux l'environnement pour améliorer son bien-être.

How have we thought “the body”? How can we think it anew? The body of mortal creatures, the body politic, the body of letters and of laws, the “mystical body of Christ”—all these (and others) are incorporated in the word Corpus, the title and topic of Jean-Luc Nancy’s masterwork. Corpus is a work of literary force at once phenomenological, sociological, theological, and philosophical in its multiple orientations and approaches. "Silent cinema" may rarely have been silent, but the sheer diversity of sound(s) and sound/image relations characterizing the first 20 years of moving picture exhibition can still astonish us.
