Here, we have to make a distinction between energy contained in matter and the divine energy with consciousness . The energy combined with consciousness is the divine soul/Atma, that converts material bodies into living entities . Our body is matter and follows the laws of science . What makes this material body into a living entity is the divine consciousness . consciousness brings empathy into the material body -mind complex . Energy is the fundamental pillar of existence . The whole universe is nothing but energy in different forms . It is only the energy that takes different forms . Energy is the source and king . Energy produces mass, produces speed, produces heat and produces all movements at varying speeds . Energy is synonymous with movement and heat . There is a beautiful manthra in the Rig veda which states;"richo akshare parame vyoman yasmin deva adhi vishve nisheduh"."yastanna veda kimricha karishyati ya ittadvidusta ime samasate" .....Rig Veda I .164.39 .Meaning; In the imperishable supreme consciousness reside all the gods and the divine forces . one who does not know this, what is the use of knowing the Vedas . One who knows, becomes one with that .
