Las estrategias de restauración combinan manejos locales con conocimientos científicos, se adaptan al contexto sociocultural, económico y rural, y consideran el difícil acceso a las tecnologías costosas. En un lenguaje no tecnificado y con el apoyo de numerosas fotos, este librito presenta un cuadro teórico para guiar las acciones de restauración y da instrucciones detalladas y prácticas para establecer y mantener plantaciones de restauración. Adicionalmente muestra los costos aproximados de restaurar una hectárea de potrero degradado y da algunas opciones agroforestales que pueden ayudar a recuperar la inversión inicial cuando son implementadas en las parcelas restauradas. Se trata de una guía útil tanto para campesinos y técnicos, como para instituciones involucradas en la restauración ecológica en áreas rurales.
