Book Description
Hail to the reader! Thank you for showing an interest in the "Learn Vinland Younger Futhark" book. So you may be wondering why I created Vinland Younger Futhark. Well, I initially started this book with the intention of only using Younger Futhark. Younger Futhark is an alphabet of Scandinavian Runes containing 16 characters, which were used around the Viking timeline. I quickly realized that this Old Norse Language was not intended to compliment such languages like modern English. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not create a good system of translating Younger Futhark into English confidently. Yet translating English into Younger Futhark was no problem. This is because one Younger Futhark character can represent several English letters. Any examples of Younger Futhark why it is not used that often in modern times. It simply just does not translate well into English. Its more of a guessing game of what seems right, rather than a confirmed translation. My goal is to revive this old language for modern English speaking people who are interested in the Norse culture. This includes bringing back Rune Stones and Grave Stones into the modern era. But we have a problem, most of the Grave Stones would be untranslatable into English. Especially important translations like names would be very difficult and time consuming. So it seems inevitable that we need to update the Younger Futhark to compliment modern English. This is why I created the Vinland Younger Futhark. I came into this project with the sole intention of not changing it, but rather slightly modifying already existing characters. This means that I did not have to create any "new" symbols for this to work. Instead I used the characters already provided and just made slight variations to represent each letter in the English alphabet. Problem solved! I found several variations of the Younger Futhark during my research. Just as people migrate and spread out, so is it natural for languages to change and update. This is true then, just as it is true now! Enjoy this ancient alphabet and lets carve a new path!

What is best for human beings in this human life? What does it mean to be a friend, and how are friendships best made and maintained? What are the best things humans can treasure, and how can they most easily secure them? In a strange world full of dangers, what strategies are best for getting through safely, and how was the greatest wisdom in the world won? "The Words of Odin" is a modern rendition of the ancient book Havamal- the words of advice given to human beings from the God of Wisdom himself, long ago. Filled with the ancient wisdom-sayings, proverbs, and stories of the Old Norse people, Havamal is a tried-and-true manual of wise living and cunning strategy for navigating the subtle complexities of human interaction and avoiding dangers of all sorts. Travelers, wanderers, guests, friends, and seekers of the ultimate wisdom within human life can benefit from Odin's perennial cleverness and timeless advice. This annotated edition contains a clear and nuanced rendering of Havamal into English, preserving its original poetic richness, and is followed by many detailed and informative notes regarding the cultural, mythological, and historical background from which the verses of wisdom arise, all to help readers from any background to understand the beauty and depth of the text. It also contains the text of Havamal in Old Norse.

Book Description
This accessible study of Northern European shamanistic practice, or seidr, explores the way in which the ancient Norse belief systems evoked in the Icelandic Sagas and Eddas have been rediscovered and reinvented by groups in Europe and North America. The book examines the phenomenon of altered consciousness and the interactions of seid-workers or shamanic practitioners with their spirit worlds. Written by a follower of seidr, it investigates new communities involved in a postmodern quest for spiritual meaning.
