Most public organizations in Saudi Arabia currently face leadership problems such as the inability to meet organizational performance targets, low productivity, and poor motivation. This study presents a critical analysis of the extent to which a participative leadership style could help improve these leadership challenges in the Saudi Arabia public sector organizations. Its main objective was to determine the impact participative leadership has on employee performance in the Saudi Arabia public sector. It focused on analyzing the positive impact the participative leadership approach has on employee performance that contributes to enhanced employee performance and organizational performance. However, the participative leadership approach represents the independent variable for the study while employee performance is the dependent variable. In this case, performance refers to the capacity to combine the correct behavior skills in order to aid in the attainment and objectives of an organization. It entails quality and quantity of work as well as the workers' capabilities. This study used a quantitative research method. The population of interest in this study was employees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia. The total number of the participants was 110 employees and all of them worked for more than 1 year by the time the study was conducted. This study utilized an online survey for collecting primary data. For 1 week, the study collected data from 110 respondents whose information is kept confidential through online survey questionnaires in English and Arabic. The anticipated outcome from the study and existing research was that workers who experience or perceive to experience participative leadership in the Saudi Arabia public sector perform better than other workers by completing more organizational goals through quality work and teamwork within a supportive workplace environment.

One focus is helping leaders understand the value of organizational culture, and how this can affect innovation. There are four main types of culture. Adhocracy is based on the need to boost employee productivity and increase flexibility in the workplace to address external challenges. The goal is to pursue an innovative strategy that increases creativity and increase flexibility in the workplace to address external challenges. A hierarchical culture focuses on development of routine and discipline in sustaining strict modes of operation. There are also a number of different types of leadership behavior, which may affect innovation. Instrumental leadership supports goal development to achieve control and bolster team spirit. Supportive leadership focuses on development of sustainable relationship between followers and leaders within the organization. The importance of supportive leadership in encouraging innovation is through employee empowerment. It also helps to increase creativity and improve individual accountability. Participative leadership focuses on task execution. It influences motivation by allowing employees to participate in decision-making. Leaders use employee performance management to encourage particular behaviors among employees , such as creativity and innovation. This study empirically investigated the impact of organizational culture on leadership behavior and organizational innovation in the oil and gas industry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is expected to shed light on the important role of the relational dynamics between organizational leadership and organizational culture on organizational innovation within the UAE oil and gas industry and how performance management techniques mediate the development and implementation of these innovations. The study hypothesized that there would be a significant positive relationship between leadership behavior or organizational culture, and organizational innovation, mediated by employee performance management. An integrated questionnaire survey was applied to 430 middle management employees in five major oil and gas organizations in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.The survey combined six demographic questions and four validated instruments on organizational culture, perceived leadership behavior, employee performance management and organizational innovation. The study found that organizational culture had a range of effects on innovation in oil and gas organizations in the UAE. Clan and adhocracy cultures both had positive impacts on radical and incremental innovation, but hierarchy and market cultures appeared to have no impact. All leadership behavior types had a positive impact on both radical and incremental innovation. All types of organizational culture apart from hierarchical also had a direct and positive impact on employee performance management. These results suggest that the role of management is crucial in determining the type of innovation in these organizations. Different types of leadership have varied effects on innovation, with participatory and instrumental leadership being the most important. The results also suggest that employee performance management is crucial for any kind of innovation. These findings suggest that it is important to understand the relationships between the study constructs to use them both effectively to deliver successful organizational innovations. The capacity to apply innovation as a strategic tool to improve productivity and competitiveness aligns with the level of employee involvement and the leadership styles used. Employee performance management appears to be an essential part of innovative practices in the organizations studied.

The oil and energy industry in Saudi Arabia is one of the largest employers of skilled workers in the country. Therefore, ensuring the continuous availability of such a unique workforce will have a positive impact on productivity and overall oil and energy organizations performance. Employees job performance and turnover intention levels are critical to the oil and energy industry, so an understanding of such factors is of interest to human resources in such industries. Although there is a lack in studying work engagement in this population, the main goal of this study was to explore the relationship between work engagement, its antecedents and consequences, and the influence of work engagement on job performance and turnover intention. Four research questions were developed to fulfill the purpose of this research: (1) demographics and work engagement, (2) job resources and work engagement, (3) work engagement and job performance and with turnover intention, (4) all the ten research variables with the job performance and with turnover intention. To answer the research questions, a web-based survey questionnaire was developed, translated into Arabic, and used in collecting data from employees. Work engagement was assessed using the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9). A total of 310 complete responses were used for data analysis.Methods to analyze the data and answer the research questions included descriptive statistics, correlational research, multiple regression, and hierarchical multiple regression. The results demonstrate that (a) age and experience are the only demographic variables that are statistically significant predictors of work engagement, (b) the independent variables of the job resources autonomy, skill variety, and performance feedbackstatistically prove a positive significant influence on the work engagement, (c) there is a statistically positive and significant correlation between job performance and work engagement, and (d) as expected, the results show a negative statistically significant correlation between turnover intention and work engagement. Finally, the hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that among the 10 variables, employees highest educational degree is the only variable that had a statistically significant influence on the job performance and only work engagement had a statistically significant influence on turnover intention.
