Se presta especial atención a la necesaria relación de colaboración entre el Derecho y otras disciplinas a la hora de ofrecer una respuesta holística e interdisciplinar a este tipo de conflictos. El Derecho, y de forma específica el Derecho Civil, se considera como una disciplina “contributiva”, o lo que es lo mismo, como fuente de conocimiento, para otras áreas como la psicología o el trabajo social. El Derecho es la ciencia que aporta el conocimiento del marco jurídico para la intervención de estos profesionales y, por lo tanto, es esencial para el buen desarrollo de su labor. Sin embargo, se incide poco en la aportación de estas disciplinas al Derecho, que también es mucha. En el ámbito de los conflictos sobre el ejercicio de la parentalidad, los psicólogos, trabajadores sociales, mediadores y coordinadores de parentalidad aportan, sobre todo, los elementos necesarios para el buen ejercicio de la “prudentia uris”, el arte de lo justo e injusto que ejercen los tribunales.
