Plane-Strain Slip-Line Fields for Metal-Deformation Processes
Author: W. Johnson
Publisher: Elsevier
ISBN: 1483278492
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 387
Book Description
Plane-Strain Slip-Line Fields for Metal-Deformation Processes: A Source Book and Bibliography provides information pertinent to the theory and application of plain-train slip fields to metal-working problems. This book discusses the industrial importance of axial symmetry. Organized into seven chapters, this book begins with an overview of the oldest processes of metal forming, including forging, coining, hammering, drifting, cutting, or parting. This text then examines the basic aspects of the basic theory of classical plasticity. Other chapters consider the governing equations of the plane plastic flow of a rigid-perfectly plastic solid. This book discusses as well the methods for the solution of problems of plane plastic flow of a rigid-perfectly plastic solid. The final chapter deals with the application of the theory of plasticity to the quasi-static plane-strain deformation of an isotropic rigid-perfectly plastic, rate insensitive material. This book is a valuable resource for mechanical engineers, materials scientists, teachers, and research workers.

Plastic Bending
Author: Tongxi Yu
Publisher: World Scientific
ISBN: 9789810222673
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 578
Book Description
From the point of view of mechanics, this monograph systematically demonstrates the theory of plastic bending and its engineering applications; most of the contents of the book are based on the authors' research in the past decade. The monograph not only expounds the contributions of the authors to the fundamental theory of plastic bending, but also presents various applications of the theory in sheet metal forming, particularly in the analysis and prediction of springback and wrinkling of strips and plates subjected to bending or stamping. In addition to theoretical modelling, attention has also been paid to the development of related numerical methods; comparisons with experimental results are also presented.

Theory of Metal Forming Plasticity
Author: Andrzej Sluzalec
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 9783642073700
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 278
Book Description
The intention of this book is to reveal and discuss some aspects of the metal fo- ing plasticity theory. The modern theory describes deformation of metallic bodies in cold and hot regimes under combined thermal and mechanical loadings. Th- mal and deformation fields appear in metal forming in various forms. A thermal field influences the material properties, modifies the extent of plastic zones, etc. and the deformation of metallic body induces changes in temperature distribution. The thermal effects in metal forming plasticity can be studied at two levels, - pending on whether uncoupled or coupled theories of thermo-plastic response have to be applied. A majority of metal forming processes can be satisfactorily studied within an uncoupled theory. In such an approach the temperature enters the stress-strain relation through the material constants and through the thermal dilatation. The description of thermo-plastic deformation in metal forming is c- ried out on the ground of thermodynamics.

Theories, Methods and Numerical Technology of Sheet Metal Cold and Hot Forming
Author: Ping Hu
Publisher: Springer Science & Business Media
ISBN: 1447140990
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 218
Book Description
Over the last 15 years, the application of innovative steel concepts in the automotive industry has increased steadily. Numerical simulation technology of hot forming of high-strength steel allows engineers to modify the formability of hot forming steel metals and to optimize die design schemes. Theories, Methods and Numerical Technology of Sheet Metal Cold and Hot Forming focuses on hot and cold forming theories, numerical methods, relative simulation and experiment techniques for high-strength steel forming and die design in the automobile industry. Theories, Methods and Numerical Technology of Sheet Metal Cold and Hot Forming introduces the general theories of cold forming, then expands upon advanced hot forming theories and simulation methods, including: the forming process, constitutive equations, hot boundary constraint treatment, and hot forming equipment and experiments. Various calculation methods of cold and hot forming, based on the authors’ experience in commercial CAE software for sheet metal forming, are provided, as well as a discussion of key issues, such as hot formability with quenching process, die design and cooling channel design in die, and formability experiments. Theories, Methods and Numerical Technology of Sheet Metal Cold and Hot Forming will enable readers to develop an advanced knowledge of hot forming, as well as to apply hot forming theories, calculation methods and key techniques to direct their die design. It is therefore a useful reference for students and researchers, as well as automotive engineers.

Metal Forming Plasticity
Author: International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics
Publisher: Springer
ISBN:
Category : Technology & Engineering
Languages : en
Pages : 426
Book Description
The International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) which is the head organisation of most of the existing national and international societies of mechanics, decided to sponsor a Symposium on METAL FORMING PLASTICITY. It was held near Munich (Federal Republic of Germany) between August 28 and September 3, 1978, in the "Evange lische Academy" in the Castle of Tutzing which is situ ated in a park at Lake Starnberg overlooking the Alps. The subjects of the Symposium were basic aspects of the theoretical and experimental mechanics of metal form ing processes rather than technological details, or plas ticity as such. Thus the spectrum of the Conference extended from necessary physical background, through ex perimental, analytical, or numerical methods, to appli cations to specific technological deformation processes such as rolling, deep drawing, extrusion, etc. The following persons were by the IUTAM-bureau ap pointed to membership of the "Scientific Committee" which was responsible for the nomination of participants as well as for the form of the scientific program: w. Johnson (U.K.), H. Kudo (Japan), H. Lippmann (F.R.G, chairman), G.S. Pisarenko (USSR), anc W. Szczepinski (Poland) . The technical organisation was in the hands of a "Local Organizing Committee" formed by VI F. Fischer, K. Heckel, G. Kuhn, H. Lippmann (chairman), K. Magnus, V. Mannl, G. Sonntag, all of them from Munich and K. Lange (Stuttgart), O. Pa'Nelski (DUsseldorf) . This committee was supported by two secretaries, i.e.
