Book Description
Some sixty years separate the first and last lorries to have come out of the Lancia factory and another thirty have passed since. Statistics confirm that very few of these vehicles are still active and in a short time Lancias will only be a memory. From the beginning of this century until the seventies Lancia designers closely monitored changes of technology, of scale and of possible applications that might concern commercial vehicles. The philosophy that guided company technicians was one of trying to anticipate market trends and technological advances. Some will reasonably object that this is not a formula for selling trucks. In fact, Lancia never did sell vast numbers of new vehicles but that did not prevent the company from occupying a predominant role in the history and development of industrial vehicles. To reconstruct Lancia history is an arduous task. Even after the Second World War, when mass production had taken over the industry, Lancia still produced innumerable model versions, each one of which was constantly improved and modified by specialist coachbuilders. For example, the "Esagamma 519" model was made in only 322 examples from a range of 336 possible versions. There were countless prototypes, "one-off" models, limited series and variants introduced during production.

Book Description
The Group B cars marked one of the most thrilling yet most tragic periods in the history of world rallying and beyond. The 037, the S4, the EVC and the ECV2, "ephemeral player" of a still-born Group S, were the unforgettable protagonists of the 1982-1986 seasons that for the Lancia marque were constellated by a series of World, European and Italian titles, but also by terrible accidents that cost the lives of Attilio Bettega, Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto. Sergio Remondino, a historic journalist and great expert in the multifaceted field of rallying, traces that unforgettable era, year by year, through a text rich in anecdotes and thanks to the contribution of the engineer Sergio Limone, one of the artificers of the Group B cars. This invaluable book is completed by the evocative images of Reinhard Klein, one of the most successful rallying photographers.

Book Description
'This is a remarkable, challenging and bravely original work.' The Guardian Ripped from the world by her husband's paranoia, Desdemona turns in death towards the memory of Barbary, the North African maid who raised her: together, they explore the contours of death, race, war, love and motherhood, in a moving elegy. Audacious with ambition, Desdemona is Toni Morrison's intimate reimagining of the fourth act of Shakespeare's Othello, mixing monologue with Rokia Traore's lyrical songs to re-examine the Bard's presentation of race and female suffering. Part-play, part-concert, part-quest into the afterlife, Desdemona is published in Methuen Drama's Modern Classics series, featuring a new introduction by Joyce Green MacDonald.

Book Description
For more than 120 years (1714-1837) Great Britain was linked to the German Electorate, later Kingdom, of Hanover through Personal Union. This made Britain a continental European state in many respects, and diluted her sense of insular apartness. The geopolitical focus of Britain was now as much on Germany, on the Elbe and the Weser as it was on the Channel or overseas. At the same time, the Hanoverian connection was a major and highly controversial factor in British high politics and popular political debate. This volume was the first systematically to explore the subject by a team of experts drawn from the UK, US and Germany. They integrate the burgeoning specialist literature on aspects of the Personal Union into the broader history of eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century Britain. Never before had the impact of the Hanoverian connection on British politics, monarchy and the public sphere, been so thoroughly investigated.
