Book Description
This book provides a clear and straightforward guide for all those seeking to conduct quantitative research in the field of education, using primary research data samples. While positioned as less powerful and somehow inferior, non-parametric tests can be very useful where the research can only be designed to accommodate data structure which is ordinal, or scale but violates a normality assumption, which is required for parametric tests. Non-parametric data are a staple of educational research, and as such, it is essential that educational researchers learn how to work with these data with confidence and rigour.

Book Description
Research Paper (undergraduate) from the year 2015 in the subject Health - Public Health, grade: 3.82, , language: English, abstract: Menstrual hygiene is a subject that has thus far been largely neglected by public health literature, including the WASH sector (water, sanitation, and hygyiene). As a result, millions of women and girls continue to be denied their rights for WASH, health, education, dignity and gender equity. This study uses a Focus Group Discussion in order to identify the access to menstrual hygiene management (MHM) materials; challenges and the utilization behaviors of refugees and to assess their preference for type of MHM materials. Key findings: Different experiences of sanitary pads utilization were observed among the discussants before their arrival to the camp. Those women coming from an urban area had experience with sanitary pads utilization, while those women coming from rural parts of Somalia used to use cloths. Conclusion: As the High Commissioner’s Five Commitments to Refugee Women include the provision of sanitary materials to all women and girls of concern, it will be good if the WASH sector and other partners give more attention (besides UNHCR’s concern) to address the women’s demand for MHM items. The disposable type of sanitary pads was the preferred MHM item. Recommendation: It is recommendable to connect school’s latrines with water for the better management of girls’ menstrual hygiene.

The rationale behind this innovative invention is to provide superior customer value in terms of convenience, comfort, fashion, and economical pricing. Panty Pad is a product in which a menstrual pad is sewn intact onto a soft cotton long-lasting disposable panty. The design of this offering is in a low cut cutting which aims to keep the panty unseen even though the user is wearing a low-cut pants or skirt. In addition, there would be some fragrance in the pad to prevent any bad odour from long-hour wearing. The first half of this book presents an in-depth and extensive environmental analysis of Japan including any possible impact of the current financial crisis as groundwork for marketing menstrual pads. Accordingly, analyses presented in the first half of this book would focus on how attractive are the economic environment, cultural environment, and political and legal environment of Japan in providing a marketing opportunity success for Panty Pad. This analysis would also account for any potential impact of the current financial crisis towards Panty Pad's sustainable competitiveness in the Japanese market.
