Book Description
An immortal diviner must navigate the multi-verse, as she joins forces with a Time Guardian to save her siblings from the clutches of a diabolical warlock wanted for crimes against spacetime in forty-two dimensions. Rainey El-Sullivan is a card-reader known as the Seer of Blandytown. She lives in an antique farmhouse in Monotheiston, DM-1, where technology is outlawed and superstition reigns. She is immortal, due to a vaccine given to her at birth by her father—the notorious doctor and Time Commander Carron Sullivan. Although she has been alive for 126 years, Rainey’s body has been genetically programmed to cease the aging process at age twenty-five. She agreed to be the caretaker of the family home, but after spending a hundred years in a territory deprived of modern advancements and forward-thinking, she has grown lonely and yearns for a more adventurous existence. Julian Cato is a Time Guardian in the employ of Commander Sullivan. Time Guardians are immortal, highly trained specialty soldiers capable of navigating all 55 dimensions in the MDV (Multi-Dimension-Verse). They are the keepers of time and technology for humanity, but are mostly hidden and incognito. On some dimensions, they are believed to be mythical. When Julian unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep with amnesia, Rainey has no choice but to return him to her father on the Outer-Dimensional Station. The Commander sends her on a mission to babysit Julian as he apprehends an escaped Gilladragon, and Rainey tries to resist her growing attraction to the handsome Time Guardian. Before they can complete the mission, they inadvertently rouse the enmity of Tony Molinaro—a fugitive warlock who wants to capture the dinosaur-like creature and use its godly powers for his own nefarious purposes. Tony kidnaps Rainey and her three siblings, threatening to kill them if the Commander does not give in to his demands. Can Rainey survive a deadly chase through spacetime and the fifty-five dimensions, while attempting to help Julian repair his fragmented psyche? Or will the warlock’s diabolical magic destroy her family and everything she holds dear?

A Guardian's protection. A beast's redemption. Caught between two worlds when her true nature is revealed, only his love can save her. JARREN: My name is Jarren Maxwell. Six years ago, I left the dimension of Blackwater Hills and have been living in the strange land of ordinary humans ever since. Staying away from the tribe in the quiet town of Ashland, Maine has helped heal the scars left by my abusive father. But the past catches up to me when Reyna Singleton, the daughter of the fearsome pack leader, decides to pay a surprise visit. When Reyna is attacked by unknown assailants, my Guardian powers awaken, and I realize she is hiding a dangerous secret only I can protect her from. REYNA: I am Reyna Singelton, the firstborn of the Merula and his witch lifemate - half descended from Corvus the beast god, half a daughter of Venefica the witch goddess. I'm also the first female of the tribe gifted with the power of transformation. It's a secret I have told no one, not even the two men closest to me. But my beast is getting stronger and harder to suppress. Jarren and Tristan suspect something is not quite right. To make matters worse, I think someone from my mother’s old coven is trying to kill me. This story is set in the world of the Children of Corvus, who are a tribe of shapeshifters descended from Corvus, the god of all beasts. They live hidden beneath the Great Shield, in the wild forest of northern Maine, USA. Some of the tribe have been gifted with the power to change into the creature known as Bestiae. Others have been given the magical powers of a Guardian, and serve as priests who protect the true sons of Corvus. The New Order of Corvus is a brand new series that begins eighteen years after The Children of Corvus trilogy.

Book Description
This book offers a radical reappraisal of the reputation of Plato in England between 1423 and 1603. Using many materials not hitherto available, including evidence of book publishing and book ownership, together with a comprehensive survey of allusions to Plato, the author shows that the English were far less interested in Plato than most historians have thought. Although the English, like the French, knew the `court' Plato as well as the `school' Plato, the English published only two works by Plato during this period, while the French published well over 100 editions, including several of the complete Works. In England allusions to Plato occur more often in prose writers such as Whetstone, Green, and Lodge, than in poets like Spenser and Chapman. Sidney did take his `Stella' from Plato, but most English allusions to Plato were taken not directly from Plato or from Ficino, but from other authors, especially Mornay, Nani-Mirabelli, Ricchieri, Steuco, and Tixier.

Book Description
A striking portrait of one of the most fascinating women in Roman history Noble and notorious, the flamboyant Clodia Metelli was the object of passion in poetry and prose in ancient Rome and appears in more written sources than any other woman of her day. Cicero, in a famous oration, branded her a whore yet in private correspondence mentions seeking her help. Her stormy affair with the poet Catullus—the Western world’s first recorded romance with a real and richly characterized woman—had a profound influence on erotic literature. Bringing together works by Cicero, Catullus, and others in which Clodia plays a part, Julia Dyson Hejduk has produced a striking portrait of one of the most fascinating women in Roman history. Her accurate and accessible English translations include not only all the classical texts that mention Clodia, but also a substantial selection of Roman erotic poetry by Propertius, Tibullus, and Ovid. While many sourcebooks offer only small illustrative excerpts, Clodia provides most sources in their entirety, such as the Pro Caelio of Cicero, nineteen complete letters, all of Catullus’s poems on “Lesbia” (his pseudonym for Clodia), and many subsequent love elegies. Hejduk’s translations please the ear while remaining faithful to the original meaning. Her introduction reviews topics in classical culture and themes in Roman love poetry, placing the texts in their literary, social, and historical context and making them accessible to high school students and undergraduates. Notes, glossary, and bibliography make the book a well-rounded teaching tool.
