Book Description
This book brings out two main sections i.e. 1). THE SECTION OF INTERACTIONAL SPEAKING SKILLS. This section is written for four major reasons: The first, describing the ideas of speaking in term of definitions which are adopted from linguists and language practitioners' opinions for the sake of giving a clearer picture of what speaking is, what components they need to know of speaking, and the types of speaking in real social context. The second, providing useful information on basic skills required to be able to interact naturally in English (such as how to start a conversation, continue the conversation and end the conversation successfully etc.) for the sake of equipping the students' basic skills to establish harmonious social relationship with native speakers of English. The third, presenting some interactive examples which are very close to the English native speakers' life authenticity. These examples are taken to show the students how they should interact with native speakers and provide them appropriate expressions to interact naturally with them. The forth, discussing 50 sentence structures which can be learned and used by the students when speaking English with English native speakers in real life communications. 2). THE SECTION OF INTERACTIONAL SPEAKING SKILLS' PEDAGOGY. This section is written for two main reasons i.e. The first, using the materials in this book to show how to teach speaking (practical context) and about speaking (theoretical context). Therefore, section contains theories of teaching speaking, as well as speaking activities which are developed on the basis of CLT as the theory underlying the teaching procedures. The second, contributing the concept of CLT procedures in real classroom interaction involving Indonesian learners of English which is then expected to be a basic pattern for developing materials of speaking course employed by language teachers and language curriculum developers in educational institutions. In addition to presenting the theory of CLT procedures and teaching materials which are compiled based on the CLT framework, this work also shows a possibility to affiliate CLT with cooperative learning technique.

Book Description
The Manuscript prepared with the aim to explore the possibilities of correlation between communication strategies and interactional skills. I am glad to share the analysis and results of the research exercise conducted with the help of my 40 students who, though expressed their happiness over having experienced motivation towards English speaking throughout the study, actually made the whole journey of research possible. I am optimistic towards further implications of the study as I am sure the clusters of communication strategies and interactional skills observed as a part of my study can be further explored as the pathway to improved speaking skills of the ESL learners.

Book Description
Drawing on data from a range of contexts, including classrooms, pharmacy consultations, tutoring sessions, and video-game playing, and a range of languages including English, German, French, Danish and Icelandic, the studies in this volume address challenges suggested by these questions: What kinds of interactional resources do L2 users draw on to participate competently and creatively in their L2 encounters? And how useful is conversation analysis in capturing the specific development of individuals’ interactional competencies in specific practices across time? Rather than treating participants in L2 interactions as deficient speakers, the book begins with the assumption that those who interact using a second language possess interactional competencies. The studies set out to identify what these competencies are and how they change across time. By doing so, they address some of the difficult and yet unresolved issues that arise when it comes to comparing actions or practices across different moments in time.

Book Description
“Dean Nelson is one of the best interviewers around.” —Anne Lamott From respected journalist, professor, and founder of the Writer's Symposium by the Sea, an indispensable guide to the subtle art of the interview guaranteed to afford readers with the skills and confidence they need the next time they say, "talk to me." Interviewing is the single most important way journalists (and doctors, lawyers, social workers, teachers, human resources staff, and, really, all of us) get information. Yet to many, the perfect interview feels more like luck than skill—a rare confluence of rapport, topic, and timing. But the thing is, great interviews aren’t the result of serendipity and intuition, but rather the result of careful planning and good journalistic habits. And Dean Nelson is here to show you how to nail the perfect interview every time. Drawing on forty-years of award-winning journalism and his experience as the founder and host of the Writer’s Symposium by the Sea, Nelson walks readers through each step of the journey from deciding whom to interview and structuring questions, to the nitty gritty of how to use a recording device and effective note-taking strategies, to the ethical dilemmas of interviewing people you love (and loathe). He also includes case studies of famous interviews to show readers how these principles play out in real time. Chock full of comprehensive, time-tested, gold-standard advice, Talk to Me is a book that demystifies the art and science of interviewing, in the vein of On Writing Well or How to Read Literature Like a Professor.
