The purpose of this report is: (a) To evaluate the legislative, institutional and technical aspects of EIA policies in a number of ESCWA member countries; namely, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Yemen; (b) To identify the main obstacles to the formulation and implementation of EIA policies; (c) To recommend measures to improve the formulation and implementation of EIA policies in the selected ESCWA member countries.
