The objectives of the study presented herein were: 1) to use the diallel cross analysis to determine the genetic basis of yield (as total pod weight, number of days to first flower, plant height, height of attachment of the highest and lowest pod and incidence of interlocular cavitation of pods in five selected cultivars of snap bean, Phaseolus vulgaris L.; 2) To determine the inheritance of seed yield per plant (as total number of seeds per plant), number of pods per plant, 100-seed wight and number of seeds per pod; 3) To determine the correlations between seed yield and each component of yield and the correlations among yield components.
