Book Description
High among the upper rafters of Rupp Arena hang the jerseys of forty-two jerseys from the University of Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball team. These jerseys represent the select few players, coaches, and broadcasters who deserve special recognition for their outstanding contributions to the Kentucky basketball program. Beginning in 2017, UK Wildcat legend (and distinguished Rafters' member) Kyle Macy hosted "From the Rafters of Rupp", a series of video interviews with many of these players of yesteryear. This special series of interviews has now been packaged in an all-new, full-color "coffee-table" book containing firsthand accounts of what is was like to play for UK in the players' own words, complete with vintage photographs. The book includes first-person interviews with the following distinguished members - Cliff Hagan (1950-54) Frank Ramsey (1950-54) Billy Evans (1952-55) Vernon Hatton (1956-58) Johnny Cox (1956-59) Cotton Nash (1962-64) Louie Dampier (1963-67) Dan Issel (1967-70) Kevin Grevey (1971-75) Jack Givens (1975-78) Rick Robey (1975-78) Sam Bowie (1980-84) Kenny Walker (1982-86) Richie Farmer (1989-92) Deron Feldhaus (1989-92) John Pelphrey (1989-92) Sean Woods (1989-92) Tony Delk (1992-96) Joe B. Hall (1972-85) Kyle Macy (1977-80) This is the perfect gift for UK men's basketball fans of all ages. Through this book, veteran fans will not only reflect on the storied history of the Wildcats in action, but they will also be able to share the pageantry and passion of this great program

Book Description
To the Iroquois, "extending the rafters" meant adding onto the longhouse, both in the literal sense of making room for new families and in the figurative sense of adding adopted individuals or tribes to the League of Five Nations. Similarly, this book extends Iroquois studies. The distinguished contributors represent such diverse areas of anthropology as ethnology, ethnohistory, and archaeology. They address issues that cut across disciplinary lines, making this book a significant, state-of-the-art survey. The topics explored revolve around the influence, contributions, field work, and teachings of anthropologist William N. Fenton, a founder of the discipline of ethnohistory. The essays run the gamut from prehistory to contemporary political issues, from individuals to women and nations, and from language to ritual.

Book Description
Cambodia. Rwanda. Armenia. Nazi Germany. History remembers these places as the sites of unspeakable crimes against humanity, and indisputably, of genocide. Yet, throughout the twentieth century, the world has seen many instances of violence committed by states against certain groups within their borders—from the colonial ethnic cleansing the Germans committed against the Herero tribe in Africa, to the Katyn Forest Massacre, in which the Soviets shot over 20,000 Poles, to anti-communist mass murders in 1960s Indonesia. Are mass crimes against humanity like these still genocide? And how can an understanding of crime and criminals shed new light on how genocide—the “crime of all crimes”—transpires? In The Crime of All Crimes, criminologist Nicole Rafter takes an innovative approach to the study of genocide by comparing eight diverse genocides--large-scale and small; well-known and obscure—through the lens of criminal behavior. Rafter explores different models of genocidal activity, reflecting on the popular use of the Holocaust as a model for genocide and ways in which other genocides conform to different patterns. For instance, Rafter questions the assumption that only ethnic groups are targeted for genocidal “cleansing," and she also urges that actions such as genocidal rape be considered alongside traditional instances of genocidal violence. Further, by examining the causes of genocide on different levels, Rafter is able to construct profiles of typical victims and perpetrators and discuss means of preventing genocide, in addition to delving into the social psychology of genocidal behavior and the ways in which genocides are brought to an end. A sweeping and innovative investigation into the most tragic of events in the modern world, The Crime of All Crimes will fundamentally change how we think about genocide in the present day.
