He has tried to anticipate the difficulties which the student or young practitioner is likely to meet with when he begins to examine cases of disease of the throat, nose, and ear, and, as far as possible, to simplify them. In the case of each region a sketch of the normal topography and appearances is first given, and this is followed by a brief outline of the principal alterations from the normal which the student may expect to meet with in the course of his work.
