In the past, attempts at introducing any hypotheses of Earth expansion have always been fraught with a lack of a simple quantitative "motor and mechanism" for expansion. This has been particularly frustrated by the conclusions of palaeomagneticians that the palaeoradius of the Earth has remained essentially static with time.
