Geology and Mineral Deposits of the Galore Creek Area (104G/3, 4)
Author: James Metcalfe Logan
Publisher: Province of British Columbia, Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources
ISBN:
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 114
Book Description
The Sphaler Creek and Flood Glacier map areas comprise the Galore Creek area, located within the Coast Mountains between the Stikine River and Mess Creek. The large tonnage Galore Creek alkaline porphyry copper-gold-silver deposit is located within the area mapped. Results of regional mapping and sampling in 1988 are summarized in the report. This report and accompanying maps incorporates new data and revisions to the 1:50 000 geology and mineral occurrence map. The project was conducted to produce detailed geological maps and a database better able to understand the Galore Creek area and aid in making new discoveries.

Geology of British Columbia
Author: Sydney Cannings
Publisher: Greystone Books
ISBN: 1553658167
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 160
Book Description
This book tells the story of the province’s geology and the history of its living creatures. The first edition of Geology of British Columbia,, with its accessible but rigorous science, struck a chord with readers. Since it was first published, theories about plate tectonics and the geological history of British Columbia have evolved, and this new edition reflects the current thinking. This book also features updated content throughout, seven new maps, and a number of new photographs. A brand new appendix lists and describes key geological sites in British Columbia, adding a field-guide component to this informative book that will engage readers and compel them to go see these rocks for themselves.

Ore Deposits, Tectonics, and Metallogeny in the Canadian Cordillera
Author: W. J. McMillan
Publisher: Province of British Columbia, Mineral Resources Division
ISBN:
Category : Geology, Structural
Languages : en
Pages : 294
Book Description
This report provides a tectonic and mineral deposit overview, then discusses deposits in North American rocks, followed by deposits formed in accreted and suspect' terrains; deposits formed at or near the sea floor or from hot springs; and those formed in successively deeper zones as magmatic deposits, vein to replacement deposits, skarns, and porphyries. Deposits within and directly linked to intrusive rocks (magmatic, porphyries, skarns), replacement deposits, possible manto deposits, deep to shallow veins and related deposits formed at the surface, volcanogenic massive sulphides and sedex deposits are then discussed. Sedimentary-hosted deposits of gypsum, barite, phosphate and other industrial minerals are not covered, nor are coal, uranium, pegmatite-hosted deposits, molybdenum prophyries or some of the less common deposit types such as carbonatites, tin greisens, and placers.
