Book Description
Excerpt from Foreign Crops and Markets, Vol. 41: December 16, 1940 Exports of Canadian wheat, including flour as grain, during the first 2 months of the august-july marketing year were 24 percent smaller this season than last, according to information received in the Office of Foreign Agricul tural Relations. Wheat destined for the British Isles was in larger volume, and shipments to Latin American countries increased, but the loss of such im portant markets as the Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, and other European markets now closed to overseas imports was not offset. The august-september total this year was bushels as compared with bushels last year. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book Description
Excerpt from Foreign Crops and Markets, Vol. 16: March 26, 1928 The shifts in grain production do not necessarily mean a change in the food consumption, although there has apparently been some change in feeding practices of the country. From statistics available, it appears that there has been a slight increase in the average amount of bread grain available for consumption per capita in the period 1924 to 1926 than in the period 1909 - 13. Indicated average wheat consumption increased from about bushels per capita in the period 1909-13 to bushels in the period 1924 to 1926, and rye consumption increased from about to bushels. These figures are based on production less estimated seed re quired for the next year's seeding and net exports for the crop year.
