Flora mycologica Iberica. 4. Laboulbeniales, I. Laboulbenia
Author: Sergio Santamaria
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Nature
Languages : es
Pages : 200
Book Description
This volume of Flora Mycologica Iberica contains the descriptions of all species of the genus Laboulbenia (Laboulbeniales, Ascomyceta) which were reported from the Iberian realm (Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands). The catalogue comprises 63 accepted and two uncertain species. The work follows in the vein of previous volumes of the series, but the uniqueness of the Laboulbeniales required that the "Methods of Study" section be expanded and information on habitat and distribution was added. . An alphabetical list of Iberian hosts along with their respective parasitic fungi rounds off this volume.

Fungi of Cameroon
Author: Clovis Douanla-Meli
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Basidiomycetes
Languages : en
Pages : 424
Book Description
Fungi of Cameroon is a contribution towards assessing the current macrofungal diversity associated with the ecosystems of Cameroon's southern forests, and evaluates the impact of deforestation and slash-and-burn on fungal communities and tracks the occurrence and changes to the fungal communities through the seasonal climatic variations (rainfall). The overall recorded species were new to the Mbalmayo forest reserve, while 75 of the described species were new to Cameroon, and eleven new mycobiota were described, plus one combination. The greatest fungal diversity was observed in forest stands, declining towards fallows and cropland. A distinct reduction of the diversity of wood and litter-dependent fungal species can be observed where land conversion takes place which is a definite threat to fungal species. As expected, seasonal variations fundamentally influence and govern the fruition and composition of the fungal communities studied.

Catalogue of the Lichen Family Porinaceae
Author: Patrick M. McCarthy
Publisher:
ISBN:
Category : Lichens
Languages : en
Pages : 172
Book Description
Three families of pyrenocarpous lichens, the Porinaceae, Pyrenulaceae and Verrucariaceae, together comprise at least 10 per cent of all lichenized fungi and variously contribute in a significant way to lichen communities on all substrata and under all climatic conditions. The almost exclusively corticolous Pyrenulaceae, with more than 429 species in 16 genera, are especially numerous and abundant in subtropical and tropical regions while making a far more modest contribution to lichen diversity in cool-temperate and boreal latitudes. By contrast most Verrucariaceae (711 species in 37 genera) are saxicolous in temperate and cooler regions, as well as under hot-arid and subarid conditions. Conversely, diversity of Verrucariaceae is markedly reduced at low latitudes. Tretiach & P. M. McCarthy is validated.
