Résumé : Objectif: Actuellement, 19,4 % des femmes atteintes d'un cancer du sein ont entre 15 et 49 ans. A l'annonce de la maladie, bon nombre de patientes n'auront donc pas accompli leur projet parental. Ces situations de grossesse après cancer du sein, peu fréquentes mais en augmentation, semblent encore peu connues par les praticiens. L'objectif de cette étude était de décrire la morbidité des femmes après un cancer du sein, et les modalités de prise en charge des femmes après cancer du sein en terme de fertilité et d'un point de vue obstétrical au Centre Hospitalier Régional et Universitaire de Besançon (CHRUB). Matériel et méthodes : II s'agit d'une étude descriptive longitudinale de type rétrospectif à propos de dix patientes. Les dossiers gynécologiques, oncologiques et obstétricaux de ces patientes enceintes entre 2005 et 2013 au CHRUB, après un cancer mammaire, ont été étudiés. Résultats : Dix sept grossesses ont eu lieu après cancer du sein, en respectant, dans 70 % des cas, un délai de deux ans après le diagnostic de cancer du sein. 90 % des patientes traitées par chimiothérapie pour leur maladie sont tombées enceintes spontanément. Les issues de grossesse étaient favorables dans 70,6 % des cas. Aucune grossesse n'a été interrompue en raison de la maladie. L'allaitement était possible dans 55,6 % des cas. Une patiente à haut risque d'adénocarcinome a présenté une rechute de la maladie lors de sa deuxième grossesse. Conclusion : La grossesse après le cancer du sein ne semble pas influencer péjorativement la survie de la patiente après la maladie. Néanmoins, un délai optimal de deux à cinq ans, fonction du pronostic de la maladie et des traitements utilisés, est préconisé. Réciproquement, le cancer du sein n'a pas de conséquences majeures sur la prise en charge obstétricale d'une grossesse programmée. L'enjeu réside donc en la préservation de la fertilité des patientes jeunes traitées par chimiothérapie qui désireront une grossesse après leur maladie.

Having safe drinking water is important to all Americans. The Environmental Protection Agency's decision in the summer of 2001 to delay implementing a new, more stringent standard for the maximum allowable level for arsenic in drinking water generated a great deal of criticism and controversy. Ultimately at issue were newer data on arsenic beyond those that had been examined in a 1999 National Research Council report. EPA asked the National Research Council for an evaluation of the new data available. The committee's analyses and conclusions are presented in Arsenic in Drinking Water: 2001 Update. New epidemiological studies are critically evaluated, as are new experimental data that provide information on how and at what level arsenic in drinking water can lead to cancer. The report's findings are consistent with those of the 1999 report that found high risks of cancer at the previous federal standard of 50 parts per billion. In fact, the new report concludes that men and women who consume water containing 3 parts per billion of arsenic daily have about a 1 in 1,000 increased risk of developing bladder or lung cancer during their lifetime.
