I have devoted twelve chapters toward the study of contracts. In the real world, unless one passes contracts, or can make up the balance from the other first-year courses, criminal law and torts, you just don't get to go forward. All of the courses that follow the first year are better understood once one understands contracts, torts, and criminal law. Getting a good grasp of the basic courses is necessary to understand the general principles of law.
