Ce travail concerne l'étude mathématique et numérique de quelques problèmes lies a la diffraction d'ondes électromagnétiques. On s'intéresse successivement au cas d'un obstacle borne et d'un réseau: obstacle infini biper iodique dans l'espace a 3 dimensions. On ramène le problème de maxwell dans un domaine extérieur a un problème pose dans un domaine borne, grâce a l'operateur de Dirichlet-Neumann. Le premier chapitre est ainsi consacre aux fonctions spéciales qui permettent d'expliciter cet operateur et d'en dégager les principales propriétés. On donne ensuite une formulation variation elle du problème dans le cas d'un obstacle inhomogène borne régulier. Le troisième chapitre traite le cas d'un écran mince conducteur parfait. On démontre que l'équation intégrale du champ électrique s'écrit comme une perturbation compacte d'un problème de point selle. La compacité est obtenue en partie grâce à un théorème de régularité du potentiel de simple couche (par des techniques de factorisation de Wiener-Hopf et de localisation). On traite ensuite le cas d'un obstacle lipschitzien. Le résultat est obtenu par approximation du domaine et des estimations uniformes. Le chapitre 5 est consacre aux réseaux électromagnétiques comprenant des conducteurs parfais et des diélectriques. On démontre l'existence de solutions. Enfin le chapitre 6 traite de l'approximation par éléments finis du problème précédent
