Le problème pose par ce travail est la possibilité d'enseigner ce que sont les démarches du physicien, au cours de travaux pratiques en deug scientifique. Pour cela nous avons entièrement construit un cursus de TP organise autour de cet enseignement. L'étude porte d'une part sur la construction du cursus, et d'autre part sur l'évaluation de son efficacité en terme d'apprentissage des démarches. Une analyse epistemologique a permis d'organiser l'enseignement autour de quatre démarches idéales, auxquelles sont associes des modèles de natures différentes. Leur organisation montre qu'une étape centrale et commune a toutes les stratégies d'investigation, est la confrontation. Nous enseignons pour eux-mêmes les différents types de confrontation, dont nous proposons une typologie. Le cursus comporte trois phases reparties sur quatre semestres: présentation du cadre epistemologique général apprentissage progressif des outils associes a la confrontation projets ou les étudiants, pour répondre a une question de physique, ont l'initiative de leur stratégie d'investigation, élaborent et réalisent un protocole d'expérience et d'exploitation de mesures. L'évaluation du cursus a conduit a repérer et caractériser différents savoirs qui interviennent dans la pratique du physicien. Certains d'entre eux fonctionnent comme des metasavoirs. C'est en établissant cette distinction entre savoirs et metasavoirs que nous avons analyse les acquisitions des étudiants. Les données recueillies permettent une évaluation a court et a moyen terme (a l'issue des deux années du cursus). Elles sont constituées de questionnaires écrits et de l'analyse, a différentes phases du projet, de l'état du travail des étudiants. L'analyse permet de valider certains choix que nous avons faits, par exemple celui des démarches a présenter aux étudiants et leur organisation mutuelle. Leur connaissance semble bien constituer des instruments de décision dans la planification d'une expérimentation. L'analyse permet de caractériser certains obstacles a ce type d'apprentissage et de proposer quelques améliorations du cursus
