La Tesis tiene los siguientes campos de desarrollo: el primero aborda la evolución teórica y conceptual de las categorías de análisis referidas al Espacio, la Región, la Frontera y la Integración en el marco de una visión territorial del desarrollo en sub espacios nacionales que confluyen formando un Espacio Regional Fronterizo; el segundo discurre examinando, en dos escenarios que el Perú comparte con Bolivia y Ecuador, la dimensión real del proceso hasta demostrar tangiblemente una dinámica económica, social y política propia de dichos espacios; el tercer eje examina el rol del Estado en la administración y gestión de aquellos procesos tanto desde una plataforma unilateral como en sus expresiones de carácter multilateral, dentro de las cuales se subraya la participación de la subregión andina. ABSTRACT This Thesis includes the following fields to be developed: the first one addresses the theoretical and conceptual evolution of the categories of analysis concerning the Space, the Region, the Border, and the Integration, within the framework of a territorial vision of development in national converging sub-spaces forming a Border Regional Space; the second one flows examining in two scenarios that Peru shares with Bolivia and Ecuador, the actual dimension of the process to demonstrate in a tangible manner a peculiar economic, social, and political dynamics of those spaces; the third axis examines the State s role in the administration and management of those processes both from a unilateral platform and in its expressions of multilateral nature, among which the participation of the Andean sub-region is emphasized.

A key concern in the debate and empirical research on the geography of regions is the evolution of the conceptualizations and practical uses of the idea of ‘region’. This idea prioritises both the intellectual and the practical development of regional studies. This book drives the discussion further. It stresses the complex forms of agency/advocacy involved in the production and reproduction of regional spaces and space of regionalism as well as the importance of geohistory and context. Bringing together comparative case studies from Central Europe and South America, this book focuses on 'new' regions - regions created as political projects of modernization and 're-scaling'. Through this approach it de-codes 'New Regionalism' in terms of its contributions to institutional change, while acknowledging its contested nature and contradictions. On November 24, 2016, the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia signed a revised peace accord that marked a political end to over a half-century of war. Feel the Grass Grow traces the far less visible aspects of moving from war to peace: the decades of campesino struggle to defend life, land, and territory prior to the national accord, as well as campesino social leaders' engagement with the challenges of the state's post-accord reconstruction efforts. In the words of the campesino organizers, "peace is not signed, peace is built." Drawing on nearly a decade of extensive ethnographic and participatory research, Angela Jill Lederach advances a theory of "slow peace." Slowing down does not negate the urgency that animates the defense of territory in the context of the interlocking processes of political and environmental violence that persist in post-accord Colombia. Instead, Lederach shows how the campesino call to "slowness" recenters grassroots practices of peace, grounded in multigenerational struggles for territorial liberation. In examining the various layers of meaning embedded within campesino theories of "the times (los tiempos)," this book directs analytic attention to the holistic understanding of peacebuilding found among campesino social leaders. Their experiences of peacebuilding shape an understanding of time as embodied, affective, and emplaced. The call to slow peace gives primacy to the everyday, where relationships are deepened, ancestral memories reclaimed, and ecologies regenerated.
