Book Description
This book highlights cutting-edge ecodesign research, covering product and service design, smart manufacturing, and social perspectives in ecodesign. Featuring selected papers presented at EcoDesign 2019: 11th International Symposium on Environmentally Conscious Design and Inverse Manufacturing, it also includes diverse, interdisciplinary approaches to foster ecodesign research and activities. In the context of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it addresses the need for the manufacturing industry to design innovations for sustainable value creation, taking into account technological developments, legislation, and consumer lifestyles. Further, the book discusses the concept of circular economy, which originated in Europe and aims to increase resource efficiency by shifting away from the linear economy. Focusing on product life cycle design and management, smart manufacturing, circular economy, and business strategies, and providing useful approaches and solutions to these emerging concepts, this book is intended for both researchers and practitioners working in the broad field of ecodesign and sustainability.

Book Description
This book addresses eco-design, a major tool for reducing the environmental impacts of products, services and systems in the context of sustainable development. It covers four key aspects of eco-design, applied to electrical engineering. First, it describes current and future methodologies and standards, including regulations, which apply to electrical engineering. In turn, the second chapter is devoted to energy systems and planning, including constraints on the insertion of equipment into the grid. Components such as transformers and cables, their eco-design characteristics and impacts, and their potential to improve the environmental impacts of networks are described in the third chapter. Lastly, the fourth chapter deals with materials in terms of their performance and ecological impact. In the case of electrical equipment, the eco-design approach is also connected to the development of renewable energies and energy efficiency.

Book Description
The book covers information on some theoretical aspects related to working of light trap like organs of insect vision and orientation towards light source, electromagnetic radiation, spectrum visible/attractive to insects, characteristics of electric lamps used, factors affecting trap catches and identification of migratory phases based on analysis of light trap catches etc. Practical aspects include principles and practice of light trap operation, trap designs and light sources to be used and study of seasonal activity and direct control of pest population using light traps. Last chapter covers extensive reviews of field trials and experimental work conducted on survey and control of some economic species of crop pests. The manuscript is supplemented in the end with a list of references cited in the text along with selected references on light trap studies for consultation to all the concerned. The main objective of this book is to revive interest among the scientists, research scholars and students in using this novel technique of pest control and make it more popular among the farmers through research and extension work. We hope this book would serve as a reference/text book, meeting the essential requirements for advanced course 'Light trap as IPM tool'.

Book Description
Scientific Study from the year 2023 in the subject Environmental Sciences, , language: English, abstract: The excessive utilization, continual production, and irresponsible disposal of plastic products continue to be one of the leading factors in the deterioration of varying components of our societal routine, in other words, plastic pollution. Suspended Eco-Friendly Greenhouse Lamp (SEGL) aims to reduce the wastage of plastic materials, all within simple and affordable limits, for the general public and the poverty-struck provinces and rural communities where plastic pollution is at one of its highest. This study aims to achieve a healthier ecosystem, an improved socio-economic structure, and the progression of a better human mindset and livelihood, with an innovative product. A quantitative-descriptive research design was utilized in the study. The researchers utilize a researcher-made survey, which applies the 4-Point Likert Scale. The respondents are the teachers, and students from the University of Cebu, Pardo and Talisay, Inc. (UCPT). The finalized data showed that the product is an effective alternative based on its intended factors. From the resulting statistics, and observed data, in terms of the analyzed factors of its function, appeal, sustainability, and benefits it is highly effective. The researchers recommend to the future researchers to conduct more thorough comparisons and research so as to properly prove the effectiveness of the product.
