Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 3319084828
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 404
Book Description
The series Topics in Organometallic Chemistry presents critical overviews of research results in organometallic chemistry. As our understanding of organometallic structure, properties and mechanisms increases, new ways are opened for the design of organometallic compounds and reactions tailored to the needs of such diverse areas as organic synthesis, medical research, biology and materials science. Thus the scope of coverage includes a broad range of topics in pure and applied organometallic chemistry, where new breakthroughs are being achieved that are of significance to a larger scientific audience. The individual volumes of Topics in Organometallic Chemistry are thematic. Review articles are generally invited by the volume editors.

Metal Vinylidenes and Allenylidenes in Catalysis
Author: Christian Bruneau
Publisher: John Wiley & Sons
ISBN: 9783527318926
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 360
Book Description
Focusing on preparation and applications in synthesis and catalysis, this book finally closes a gap in the literature by summarizing this hot topic for the first time. As such, it gathers in one volume the key features of metal vinylidene and allenylidene complexes as well as reactive species and covers applications in metathesis, polymerization, molecular materials, carbon rich compounds and fine chemical production. The emphasis here is on the selective transformations of alkynes and enynes plus simple and complex molecules containing a triple C-C bond. The result is a must-have ready reference for organic, catalytic, complex, theoretical and polymer chemists, as well as those working with/on organometallics.

Copper-Catalyzed Multi-Component Reactions
Author: Yusuke Ohta
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 9783642154720
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 104
Book Description
A copper-catalyzed direct synthesis of 2-(aminomethyl)indoles by catalytic domino reaction including multi-component coupling was developed, and is the first example of a three-component indole formation without producing salts as a byproduct. Based on this reaction, a copper-catalyzed synthesis of 3-(aminomethyl)isoquinoline was accomplished which represents an unprecedented isoquinoline synthesis through a four-component coupling reaction. Following these results, extensive application studies using one-pot palladium-, acid-, or base-promoted cyclization revealed that indole- or isoquinoline-fused polycyclic compounds can be readily synthesized through multi-component reactions. As the concept of Green Chemistry becomes ever more important, these findings may provide efficient and atom-economical approaches to the diversity-oriented synthesis of bioactive compounds containing a complex structure. This could lead to development of promising drug leads with structural complexity. The work of this thesis will go on to inspire the synthetic research of many readers.

Metallocenes in Regio- and Stereoselective Synthesis
Author: Marko Hapke
Publisher: Springer
ISBN: 9783031573804
Category : Science
Languages : en
Pages : 0
Book Description
This book presents the latest synthetic protocols for the assembly of functionalized Cp ligands and their transition metal complexes. Cyclopentadienyl (Cp) complexes of transition metals belong to the most important classes of transition metal complexes with tightly bound ligands in the coordination sphere since their discovery in the middle of the last century. Even though they have been known for a long time, this field constantly evolves to deliver novel modified Cp ligands and complexes and to blossom into new fields of application. Beside the synthesis of ligands and metal complexes this book concentrates on novel and prospering fields of their application in organic synthesis. In this respect the Cp complexes have been applied to induce and catalyze various significant chemical transformations such as new C-C bond formation involving unsaturated substrates (e.g. cyclotrimerizations, cycloadditions, carbometallations, etc.), C-H bond and C-C bond activations followed by subsequent reactions (e.g. arylation, alkenylations, annulations, etc.), as well as many other processes. This volume also covers the recent development and application of chiral Cp complexes in enantioselective synthesis.
