Welchen Blick hat Husserl auf Galileo Galilei und René Descartes? Ausgehend von Galileo Galilei und dessen Mathematisierung der Natur, entsteht eine neue Wissenschaft, die für Husserl nur angewandte Mathematik ist. Erst in der reflexiv einholenden Analyse der „Intentionalität“ wird eine Erfahrung zu einer lebendigen Erfahrung. Im Zurückgehen auf die Erfahrung, erlebt man Wahrheit und die Wirklichkeit. Nur in ihr ist das Leben, ist alles, ist die Liebe. Von diesem Punkt aus lässt sich erst verständlich machen, was wirkliche phänomenologische Eidetik bedeutet. Sie ist intuitive ‚Wesenserschauung‘ des Lebens. Eidetische Erfahrung ist personal, denn es lässt sich fragen: Wer ist hier auf was gerichtet? Bei allen Überlegungen wird sich herausstellen, dass die Personalität, als individuelle und gemeinschaftliche, in der Phänomenologie gerade in Bezug auf die Krise und den Begriff der Lebenswelt bei Husserl eine tragende Bedeutung besitzt. Die Person als lebendiges leiblich-geistiges Wesen, ist der fungierende Pol bei der philosophischen Suche nach Gewissheit.

This book offers a systematic interpretation of the relation between natural science and metaphysics in Husserl’s phenomenology. It shows that Husserl’s account of scientific knowledge is a radical alternative to established methods and frameworks in contemporary philosophy of science. The author’s interpretation of Husserl’s philosophy offers a critical reconstruction of the historical context from which his phenomenological approach developed, as well as new interpretations of key Husserlian concepts such as metaphysics, idealization, life-world, objectivism, crisis of the sciences, and historicity.
