De nos jours, la sédentarité des populations augmentant et l'incidence du diabète augmentant en parallèle, le sport et l'activité physique sont au cœur du dispositif de prévention et de traitement du diabète de type II. De son côté, le patient diabétique de type I souhaite par la pratique d'un sport se libérer de la maladie et avoir un mode de vie le plus proche possible du sujet sain. Cependant, l'activité physique représente un risque important chez le sujet diabétique (type I et II) si elle n'est pas correctement encadrée. Le pharmacien, par ses conseils, trouve sa place dans cet encadrement. Nous avons donc présenté le diabète et la physiologie du sport dans son ensemble et nous nous sommes penchés sur les conseils officinaux que peut délivrer le pharmacien. Ces conseils sont nombreux, importants, doivent être maitrisés et compris par le patient qui les reçoit. De plus, ces conseils font pleinement partie des nouvelles missions du pharmacien d'officine définies par la loi Hôpital, Patients, Santé, Territoire et seront utilisés pour le suivi des patients diabétiques par les pharmaciens d'officine.
