Book Description
What is special about this book? Jean Klein said that non-duality is not a philosophy but simply the truth. But if non-dual truth is beyond the mind, what good are "reflections" on it? Why is the "path of knowledge" (of "jnana" or "gnosis") more promising than just meditation? The reason is that it is difficult to let go of a mind that still believes it can give meaningful answers to questions like "Who am I?" or "What is real?" When, however, through understanding and direct investigation, the mind's skewed, limiting ideas have been seen through, when we stop believing in anything the mind has created, including our identity, it immediately becomes natural for us to live in Openness and Not-Knowing. Then we are available for Grace, for Realization. This book approaches spiritual awakening from two directions. Expounding non-dual core teachings and providing some philosophical, psychological and religious context for them, it also uses direct pointing to help you become aware of any mind-movement away from reality. Overview of contents: Part 1 is designed to help you enter a state of natural meditation, using non-dual pointers and answering basic questions about ego identity, reality and the nature of thought. Part 2 discusses psychological and emotional aspects of spiritual awakening. Part 3 provides some helpful philosophical context for non-duality. Part 4 relates non-dual teachings to near-death experiences, religion and mysticism.

Book Description
Secrets of Creativity: What Neuroscience, the Arts, and Our Minds Reveal draws on insights from leading neuroscientists and scholars in the humanities and the arts to probe creativity in its many contexts, in the everyday mind, the exceptional mind, the scientific mind, the artistic mind, and the pathological mind. Components of creativity are specified with respect to types of memory, forms of intelligence, modes of experience, and kinds of emotion. Authors in this volume take on the challenge of showing how creativity can be characterized behaviorally, cognitively, and neurophysiologically. The complementary perspectives of the authors add to the richness of these findings. Neuroscientists describe the functioning of the brain and its circuitry in creative acts of scientific discovery or aesthetic production. Humanists from the fields of literature, art, and music give analyses of creativity in major literary works, musical compositions, and works of visual art.

Book Description
Conscious Creation … manifesting reality … the Law of Attraction … the Moment of Now. What are these principles, how do they work, and how do they translate to everyday life? How do we limit ourselves from having a fuller and more rewarding life?We are continually creating and experiencing our own realities, and yet we are largely unaware of the mechanics, and of our own role in the process. Understanding Conscious Creation, in an everyday sense, expands our awareness of how Life “happens”. It also allows us to make choices in ways that intentionally shape Life into a more fulfilling experience. The recently popularized Law of Attraction is only the middle step of the entire Conscious Creation process. We first create, then we attract, and finally we receive an experience. Myke Wolf spells out the entire Conscious Creation process in very practical terms that are easy to understand and work with. He provides ways to become more aware of our choices, thoughts, judgments, beliefs and intentions which all factor into the creative process. In this blend of real-life examples and beautiful channeled messages, Myke Wolf brings the esoteric principles of creation, manifestation, and the Law of Attraction down to a practical, everyday level. Readers will gain a deeper understanding of how their choices shape life experiences, how to interact with the Conscious Creation process, and ultimately enjoy a more fulfilling life.

Book Description
The story of the experimental zeitgeist in Eastern European art, seen through personal encounters, pioneering dialogues, collaborative projects, and cultural exchanges. Throughout the 1970s, a network of artists emerged to bridge the East-West divide, and the no less rigid divides between the countries of the Eastern bloc. Originating with a series of creative initiatives by artists, art historians, and critics and centered in places like Budapest, Poznań, and Prague, this experimental dialogue involved Western participation but is today largely forgotten in the West. In Networking the Bloc, Klara Kemp-Welch vividly recaptures this lost chapter of art history, documenting an elaborate web of artistic connectivity that came about through a series of personal encounters, pioneering dialogues, collaborative projects, and cultural exchanges. Countering the conventional Cold War narrative of Eastern bloc isolation, Kemp-Welch shows how artistic ideas were relayed among like-minded artists across ideological boundaries and national frontiers. Much of the work created was collaborative, and personal encounters were at its heart. Drawing on archival documents and interviews with participants, Kemp-Welch focuses on the exchanges and projects themselves rather than the personalities involved. Each of the projects she examines relied for its realization on a network of contributors. She looks first at the mobilization of the network, from 1964 to 1972, exploring five pioneering cases: a friendship between a Slovak artist and a French critic, an artistic credo, an exhibition, a conceptual proposition, and a book. She then charts a series of way stations for experimental art from the Soviet bloc between 1972 and 1976—points of distribution between studios, private homes, galleries, and certain cities. Finally, she investigates convergences—a succession of shared exhibitions and events in the second half of the 1970s in locations ranging from Prague to Milan to Moscow. Networking the Bloc, Kemp-Welch invites us to rethink the art of the late Cold War period from Eastern European perspectives.
