Le minerai n'est plus verse directe ment dans l'entonnoir U, mais dans un crible a doutle fond est forme par une grille qui arrete les fragments tr0p gros et ne laisse arriver entre les cylindres que ceux qui ont une dimension convenable. Le minerai broye est recu de nouveau sur un crible M, dont les mailles sont plus fines que celles du crible des cylindres canneles. On cherche, par ce broyage, a reduire le mi nerai en fragments de 4 a 5 millimetres de diametre, qui se pretent le mieux aux operations subseq'uentes. On ne peut pas eviter, cc pendant, la formation de grains plus fins et de poussiere, bien qu'on cherche a en diminuer la quantite autant que possible.
