Book Description

Book Description
LE PROBLEME DU TEST ET DIAGNOSTIC A TOUJOURS ETE UN THEME DE RECHERCHE ET DE DEVELOPPEMENT IMPORTANT DANS LE DOMAINE DE L'ELECTRONIQUE. EN EFFET, LE TEST A UNE PLACE ESSENTIELLE DANS LA FABRICATION ET LA MAINTENANCE DES CIRCUITS ELECTRONIQUES. ALORS QUE LE TEST DES CIRCUITS NUMERIQUES A FAIT L'OBJET DE NOMBREUSES ETUDES, QUI ONT PERMIS LA MISE AU POINT DE DIFFERENTES METHODES, LE TEST DES CIRCUITS ANALOGIQUES ET MIXTES (ANALOGIQUE/DIGITALE) N'A PAS CONNU CE MEME ESSOR. A L'HEURE ACTUELLE, ON RECENSE QUELQUES TRAVAUX SUR LE PROBLEME DU TEST DES CIRCUITS ANALOGIQUES. CEPENDANT, LA MAJORITE DES METHODES PROPOSEES PRESENTENT DES LIMITATIONS ET DES DIFFICULTES DE MISE EN OEUVRE LIEES AU PROBLEME DE LA TOLERANCE, LA MODELISATION ET LA NON-LINEARITE DES COMPOSANTS. CE TRAVAIL PRESENTE, D'UNE PART, UNE APPLICATION DES METHODES D'IDENTIFICATION AU TEST ET DIAGNOSTIC DES CIRCUITS ELECTRONIQUES ANALOGIQUES ET D'AUTRE PART, UNE ETUDE D'APPROCHES NEURONALES POUR LE TEST ET DIAGNOSTIC DE CES DERNIERS. DANS UN PREMIER TEMPS, UNE ETUDE THEORIQUE DES METHODES D'IDENTIFICATION CLASSIQUE EST EXPOSEE. NOUS AVONS EXAMINE LES DIFFERENTS CHOIX POUR ADAPTER CES METHODES AU PROBLEME DU TEST ET DIAGNOSTIC DES CIRCUITS ANALOGIQUES. A TRAVERS DES EXEMPLES DE SIMULATION SUR DES CIRCUITS LINEAIRES, NOUS AVONS VALIDE CES APPROCHES. COMPTE TENU DES LIMITATIONS CONSTATEES SUR CES METHODES, NOUS AVONS PROPOSE D'ETUDIER DES APPROCHES BASEES SUR LES RESEAUX DE NEURONES AFIN DE CONTOURNER CES LIMITATIONS. UNE BREVE ETUDE THEORIQUE DES RESEAUX DE NEURONES ET DE CERTAINS MODELES NEURONAUX A ETE EXPOSEE. A LA SUITE DE CETTE ETUDE, NOUS AVONS PROPOSE PLUSIEURS APPROCHES UTILISANT CES TECHNIQUES (RESEAUX DE NEURONES : BACKPROPAGATION, LVQ, RBF, SYSTEMES MULTI-RESEAUX) POUR L'IDENTIFICATION ET LA CLASSIFICATION EN VUE DU TEST ET DIAGNOSTIC DES CIRCUITS ANALOGIQUES. CES APPROCHES ONT ETE VALIDEES PAR SIMULATION ET EXPERIMENTATION POUR DES SIMPLE ET DOUBLE-DEFAUTS. LES AVANTAGES DES APPROCHES NEURONALES PROPOSEES DANS CE TRAVAIL SONT : LA DISPENSE DE LA MODELISATION MATHEMATIQUE DU CIRCUIT, LA DIMINUTION DU NOMBRE DE POINTS DE TEST, LA POSSIBILITE D'APPLICATION DE TELLES TECHNIQUES A LA FOIS A DES CIRCUITS LINEAIRES ET NON-LINEAIRES.

Book Description
Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences was first conceived, published, and dis· seminated by the Center for Information and Numerical Data Analysis and Synthesis (CINDAS) *at Purdue University in 1957, starting its coverage of theses with the academic year 1955. Beginning with Volume 13, the printing and dissemination phases of the ac· tivity were transferred to University Microfilms/Xerox of Ann Arbor, Michigan, with the thought that such an arrangement would be more beneficial to the academic and general scientific and technical community. After five years of this joint undertaking we had concluded that it was in the interest of all concerned if the printing and distribution of the volume were handled by an international publishing house to assure improved service and broader dissemination. Hence, starting with Volume 18, Masters Theses in the Pure and Applied Sciences has been disseminated on a worldwide basis by Plenum Publishing Corporation of New York, and in the same year the coverage was broadened to include Canadian universities. All back issues can also be ordered from Plenum. We have reported in Volume 20 (thesis year 1975) a total of 10,374 theses titles from 28 Canadian and 239 United States universities. We are sure that this broader base for theses titles reported will greatly enhance the value of this important annual reference work. The organization of Volume 20 is identical to that of past years. It consists of theses titles arranged by discipline and by university within each discipline.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • “A fascinating look at how consumers perceive logos, ads, commercials, brands, and products.”—Time How much do we know about why we buy? What truly influences our decisions in today’s message-cluttered world? In Buyology, Martin Lindstrom presents the astonishing findings from his groundbreaking three-year, seven-million-dollar neuromarketing study—a cutting-edge experiment that peered inside the brains of 2,000 volunteers from all around the world as they encountered various ads, logos, commercials, brands, and products. His startling results shatter much of what we have long believed about what captures our interest—and drives us to buy. Among the questions he explores: • Does sex actually sell? • Does subliminal advertising still surround us? • Can “cool” brands trigger our mating instincts? • Can our other senses—smell, touch, and sound—be aroused when we see a product? Buyology is a fascinating and shocking journey into the mind of today's consumer that will captivate anyone who's been seduced—or turned off—by marketers' relentless attempts to win our loyalty, our money, and our minds.

Book Description
With a novel, less classical approach to the subject, the authors have written a book with the conviction that signal processing should be taught to be fun. The treatment is therefore less focused on the mathematics and more on the conceptual aspects, the idea being to allow the readers to think about the subject at a higher conceptual level, thus building the foundations for more advanced topics. The book remains an engineering text, with the goal of helping students solve real-world problems. In this vein, the last chapter pulls together the individual topics as discussed throughout the book into an in-depth look at the development of an end-to-end communication system, namely, a modem for communicating digital information over an analog channel.

Book Description
In this book, leading scientists in the fields of sensory biology, neuroscience, physics and engineering explore the basic operational principles and behavioral uses of flow sensing in animals and how they might be applied to engineering applications such as autonomous control of underwater or aerial vehicles. Although humans possess no flow-sensing abilities, countless aquatic (e.g. fish, cephalopods and seals), terrestrial (e.g. crickets and spiders) and aerial (e.g. bats) animals have flow sensing abilities that underlie remarkable behavioral feats. These include the ability to follow silent hydrodynamic trails long after the trailblazer has left the scene, to form hydrodynamic images of their environment in total darkness, and to swim or fly efficiently and effortlessly in the face of destabilizing currents and winds.
