The journal was conceived as a contribution to a philosophy based on the primacy of concepts and the rigor of logic and formalization,as opposed to lived experience or the interpretation of meaning. Concepts embody our knowledge of the kinds of things there are in the world. Tying our past experiences to our present interactions with the environment, they enable us to recognize and understand new objects and events.
