Book Description
We report a preliminary branching fraction of (1.80 {+-} 0.37{sub stat.} {+-} 0.23{sub syst.}) x 10{sup -4} for the charmless exclusive semileptonic B{sup +} {yields} {pi}{sup 0}{ell}{sup +}{nu} decay, where {ell} can be either a muon or an electron. This result is based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 81 fb{sup -1} collected at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector. The analysis uses B{bar B} events that are tagged by a B meson reconstructed in the semileptonic B{sup -} {yields} D{sup 0}{ell}{sup -}{bar {nu}}(X) decays, where X can be either a {gamma} or a {pi}{sup 0} from a D* decay.

Book Description
We report a measurement of the branching fractions of {bar B} 2!D** l−{bar {nu}}{sub l} decays based on 417 fb−1 of data collected at the [Upsilon](4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II ee− storage rings. Events are selected by fully reconstructing one of the B mesons in a hadronic decay mode. A fit to the invariant mass differences m(D{sup (*)})-m(D{sup (*)}) is performed to extract the signal yields of the different D** states. We observe the {bar B} 2!D**{ell}−{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}} decay modes corresponding to the four D** states predicted by Heavy Quark Symmetry with a significance greater than six standard deviations including systematic uncertainties.

Book Description
The authors report the first measurement of the branching fraction f00 for?(4S) → B°{bar B}°. The data sample consists of 81.7 fb−1 collected at the?(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy ee− storage ring. Using partial reconstruction of the decay {bar B}° → D*+l− {bar?}{sub t} in which only the charged lepton and the soft pion from the decay D*+ → D°?+ are reconstructed, they obtain f00 = 0.487 ± 0.010(stat) ± 0.008(sys). The result does not depend on the branching fractions of {bar B}° → D*+l− {nu}{sub t} and D*+ → D°?+ decays, on the ratio of the charged and neutral B meson lifetimes, nor on the assumption of isospin symmetry.

Book Description
Using 65 million {Upsilon}(4S) {yields} B{bar B} events collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e{sup +}e{sup -} storage ring at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, they measure the color-favored branching fractions {Beta}({bar B}{sup 0} {yields} D{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) = (2.63 {+-} 0.05 {+-} 0.22) x 10{sup -3}, {Beta}({bar B}{sup 0} {yields} D*{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) = (2.79 {+-} 0.08 {+-} 0.18) x 10{sup -3}, {Beta}(B{sup -} {yields} D{sup 0}{pi}{sup -}) = (4.90 {+-} 0.07 {+-} 0.23) x 10{sup -3} and {Beta}(B{sup -} {yields} D*{sup 0} {pi}{sup -}) = (5.52 {+-} 0.17 {+-} 0.43) x 10{sup -3}, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. With these results and the current world average for the branching fraction for the color-suppressed decay {bar B}{sup 0} {yields} D{sup (*)0}{pi}{sup 0}, the cosines of the strong phase difference {delta} between the I = 1/2 and I = 3/2 isospin amplitudes are determined to be cos{sigma} = 0.860{sub -0.006-0.028}{sup +0.007+0.029} for the {bar B} {yields} D{pi} process and cos{sigma} = 0.917{sub -0.016-0.051}{sup +0.018+0.059} for the {bar B} {yields} D*{pi} process. The results for cos{delta} suggest that final-state interactions are presented in the D{pi} system.

Book Description
The decays[Upsilon](4S)[yields] B[bar B], followed by B[yields] D*[pi] and D*[yields] D[pi], permit reconstruction of all kinematic quantities that describe the sequence without reconstruction of the D, with reasonably low backgrounds. Using an integrated e[sup+]e[sup -] luminosity of 3.1 fb[sup -1] accumulated at the[Upsilon](4S) by the CLEO-II detector, we report measurements of[Beta]([bar B][sup 0][yields] D*[sup+][pi][sup -])= (2.81[+-] 0.11[+-] 0.21[+-] 0.05) x 10[sup -3] and[Beta](B[sup -][yields] D*[sup 0][pi][sup -])= (4.34[+-] 0.33[+-] 0.34[+-] 0.18) x 10[sup -3].

We present a study of B semileptonic decays into charm final states based on 211.7 fb{sup -1} of data collected at the {Upsilon}(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e{sup +}e{sup -} storage ring. Using a novel technique based on the simultaneous fit of a set of variables reconstructed on the recoil of a B tagged in an hadronic decay mode, we measure the relative branching fractions {Lambda}(B{sup -} {yields} D{sup 0}{ell}{sup -}{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}}) = 0.611 {+-} 0.022 (stat.) {+-} 0.027 (syst.) and {Lambda}(B{sup -} {yields} D**{sup 0})(D{sup (*)}{pi}){ell}{sup -}{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}}/{Lambda}(B{sup -} {yields} DX{ell}{sup -}{bar {nu}}{sub {ell}}) = 0.173 {+-} 0.017 (stat.) {+-} 0.021 (syst.).

Book Description
Decays of the type B 2!D{sup (*)} {bar D}(*) can be used to provide a measurement of the parameter sin2[beta] of the Unitarity Triangle that is complementary to the measurement derived from the mode B° 2!K{sub S}°. In this document we report a measurement of the branching fraction for the decay B° 2!D*D*− with the BABAR detector. With data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.7 fb−1 collected at the [Upsilon](4S) resonance during 1999-2000, we have reconstructed 38 candidate signal events in the mode B° 2!D*D*− with an estimated background of 6.2 ± 0.5 events. From these events, we determine the branching fraction to be [Beta](B° 2!D*+D*−) = (8.0 ± 1.6(stat) ± 1.2(syst)) x 10−4 (preliminary). The measured fraction of the component with odd CP parity is 0.27± 0.17(stat) ± 0.02(syst).

Book Description
Using 5.2 fb[sup -1] annihilation data recorded with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II storage ring while operating on the[Upsilon](4S) resonance, a sample of fully reconstructed B[sup 0] decays in the hadronic modes B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -][pi][sup+] and B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -][rho][sup+] have been reconstructed. In this paper, a study of these events is reported, including preliminary measurements of the absolute branching fractions for these modes, which are found to be B(B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -][pi][sup+]= 2.9[+-] 0.3[+-] 0.3) x 10[sup -3] and B(B[sup 0][yields] D*[sup -][rho][sup+])= (11.2[+-] 1.1[+-] 2.5) x 10[sup -3].

Book Description
We report preliminary results from a study of the charmless exclusive semileptonic decay B° →?−l? based on the data collected at the?(4S) resonance using the BABAR detector at SLAC. The analysis uses events in which the signal B meson recoils against a B meson that has been reconstructed in a semileptonic decay {bar B}° → D{sup (*)+}l−{bar?}. We extract the total branching fraction?(B° →?−l+{nu}) = (1.03 ± 0.25{sub stat.} ± 0.13{sub syst.}) x 10−4 and the partial branching fractions in three bins of q2, the invariant mass squared of the lepton-neutrino system. From the partial branching fractions and theoretical predictions for the form factors, we determine the magnitude of the CKM matrix element.
