Book Description
"First reconstructs the culutral matrix of African American religion, a total way of life formed by Protestantism, American culture, and the institution of slavery (1619-1865). Whites from Europe and Blacks from Africa arrived with specific, differing views of God, faith, and humanity. Hopkins recreates their worldviews and shows how white theology sought to remake African Americans into naturally inferior beings divinely ordained into subservience. The counter voice of enslaved blacks is the birth of the Spirit of liberation." -- Back cover.

Book Description
One book or three books: My main interest is to help the deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people understand the Word of God and to apply it to their own life with Gods help. It also gives us, as well as the hearing people, encouragement, help, and inspiration from the Word of God and tells us to receive the Word of God by faith. My main reason of writing the Trinity to show the example of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as one and believe that God is One. I also write Trinity for various reasons and put down Bible verses to help match the Old Testament and New Testament that speak the same thing to show them the Bible in fact is real. Gods Word is very real. I write the main points because I have heard in the past about their belief, their teaching, and their faith in God, and I am willing to write down what they say and that the Bible has all the answer to our need and purpose. I have studied the Bible for forty-five years, seeking answers and being able to explain better from Gods teaching, from Gods Word. Whenever I hear people talk about their faith in God, I write down Bible verses to help inspire their life positive. It would help all of us to grow in grace through our Lord Jesus Christ. He has the answer to all our problems. My main point is to help them know that they can be saved through Jesus Christ by faith in him alone. Only in him shall we be saved. Be blessed! Evangelist John H. Manigo 1 Corinthians 6:1920

Book Description
We stand on the turtle's back and ask for the wind. We fly through the turtle's mind and drink the sky. We walk through the turtle's home and know we are alive with others who are alive. Something like water, something like blood flows through all of us as the sun lifts up its great eye each morning. We do not move through this world alone. Penny Harter's poems mingle patient alertness with animal choirs, reading prophecy in shells, bones, fallen leaves. "Penny Harter speaks with the wisdom of her kinship to the greater biotic community. Her meld of intuition, intelligence, talent and command has resulted in an exceptional and complete collection of poems that reflects great reverence for the spirit of Nature while offering glimpses of the frightening hubris that characterizes our own species. This elegant volume is very important both poetically and philosophically."--Jack Loeffler

Book Description
Ira Berlin traces the history of African-American slavery in the United States from its beginnings in the seventeenth century to its fiery demise nearly three hundred years later. Most Americans, black and white, have a singular vision of slavery, one fixed in the mid-nineteenth century when most American slaves grew cotton, resided in the deep South, and subscribed to Christianity. Here, however, Berlin offers a dynamic vision, a major reinterpretation in which slaves and their owners continually renegotiated the terms of captivity. Slavery was thus made and remade by successive generations of Africans and African Americans who lived through settlement and adaptation, plantation life, economic transformations, revolution, forced migration, war, and ultimately, emancipation. Berlin's understanding of the processes that continually transformed the lives of slaves makes Generations of Captivity essential reading for anyone interested in the evolution of antebellum America. Connecting the Charter Generation to the development of Atlantic society in the seventeenth century, the Plantation Generation to the reconstruction of colonial society in the eighteenth century, the Revolutionary Generation to the Age of Revolutions, and the Migration Generation to American expansionism in the nineteenth century, Berlin integrates the history of slavery into the larger story of American life. He demonstrates how enslaved black people, by adapting to changing circumstances, prepared for the moment when they could seize liberty and declare themselves the Freedom Generation. This epic story, told by a master historian, provides a rich understanding of the experience of African-American slaves, an experience that continues to mobilize American thought and passions today.

She has persisted, with the results detailed here.
